That's legit... I DL'ed it, but I understand. Here are the youtube links:I would DWiens and thanks for the thought but I'm very scared of internet viruses.
my computer is very expensive. top of the range and stuff.
But, back to boxing, yeah, Hatton basically has one style, i.e. get the man, stick tight to him and work him down for 12 rounds.
Mayweather has one style, stand 3 steps back and pick punches and wear opponent down.
Basically Hatton will just close the gap or Floyd will run sideways to stay a couple of feet away.
I think the former will happen because Hatton is also quick.

Watch... I know Chavez isn't Ricky Hatton, but it is at least a good indicator of how he has been able to deal with come straight forward pressure fighters in the past.Comment

You mean the same Jesus Chavez that just got knocked out by Julio Diaz in 3 when it took Floyd 9?You should watch this... it's a style that is a lot closer to Hatton's.

Hmm, some early observations are thatFloyd is much bigger and stronger than I have given him credit form, Chavez looked tired/unfit compared to Floyd and loved to flail his arms and is a cool ****er, his fighting style is so watchable.
One thing tho is that he tends to keep his head down, Ricky is the opposite and much quicker. I think Ricky has more punching power too.
I think Floyd definitely won't want to get into a Chavez style situation with Ricky. Hatton has too much quality.
Floyd did his most damage to Chavez when there was a good gap between them. He really picked him off with big shots.Comment

Agreed, this is a good assessment of the fight I think, other than Chavez being tired... I didn't see that, but everything else you are pretty right about.Hmm, some early observations are thatFloyd is much bigger and stronger than I have given him credit form, Chavez looked tired/unfit compared to Floyd and loved to flail his arms and is a cool ****er, his fighting style is so watchable.

This wasn't posted as an exact prophecy of the Hatton fight, I just wanted to show you that Floyd has dealt with a pressure fighter before... he does have answers other than standing in front and trying to trade.Comment

Dwiens: To answer your statement from another thread where you say (paraphrase): Since there is no source to indicate that Hatton broke any of Castillo's ribs, I don't believe it.

[edit] Comments:
This was the first time in Castillo's career that he was knocked down.[citation needed]
Hatton dedicated his performance to the late Diego Corrales and widow Michelle whom he hugged in the ring after the fight.
HBO announcer Jim Lampley referred to the punch that dropped Castillo as "...the perfect liver shot."
"There was more action in those four rounds than in Floyd Mayweather's last half dozen fights." - Ricky Hatton
HBO boxing analyst Max Kellerman said of the fight, "It seems unfair to take a little credit away (from Hatton) but here it goes. Castillo did look like a shot fighter tonight, like he was showing up just kind of to see what this young guy had and when he saw what he had, he thought `It's too much for me.` and packed it in on a body shot". This body shot was revealed to have broken 4 of Castillo's ribs. Retrieved from "http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ricky_Hatton_vs._Jos%C3%A9_Luis_Castillo"Comment

Perhaps he wasn't unfit, but his constant stumbling forward to flail his arms gives you that impression. I guess thats probably more to do with his style.
The very key thing I see tho in this fight is that Chavez doesn't lift his head and often doesn't see where he's punching. Its like he's fighting as a blind man whereas Floyd is looking down on him, seeing everything and is able to adapt his movements and decide where he wants to take the fight.
This fight has convinced me that Hatton/Mayweather definitely isn't going to be another Floyd/Oscar snoozefest.
This fight is gonna be great.Comment
