Is a Hatton victory good for boxing?

Is a Hatton victory good for boxing?

I think it is. Boxing is starved for fighters of the Roberto Duran/Marvin Hagler grade. While there will never be another Duran/Hagler, Ricky Hatton can turn a page in boxing if he defeats the elusive businessman, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

I'm tired of the Floyds, Bernards, and Roy Jones Jr.'s. Fighers like Pacquiaou and Pavlik have made significant steps to return boxing back to the fans, where fighters battle for the glory of being top dog. Hatton has the opportunity to finish the job and shove the businessmen to the back where they belong. The sooner the better.

How the hell do you not find Roy Jones Jr exciting? I can see Floyd or Bernard, but Roy? Seriously?

And no I don't think general fans will like Hatton's style because he "clinches to much." I don't have that much of a problem with it, but the general audience probably will.

It's for it in a certain sense. It would set up a HUGE megafight between the two. OR a HUGE HUGE HUGE fight between Hatton and De La Hoya. However, I actually think Mayweather would fight the Cotto or Mosley winner, before Hatton would.. and that makes me split between who I WANT to win. I'd still prefer if Hatton won, but... Either way.. it's truly a win-win for boxing.

any upset is good for boxing, the less fighters trying to protect there unbeaten record the better.

How is Floyd protecting an unbeaten record by fighting a top ten p4p guy? Who is actually younger and bigger than him? And undefeated?

                    Please help me understand.
