    Andre Berto-Carlos Quintana?

This is a matchup that I've been hearing a lot of buzz and static about. Quintana knocked off previously unbeaten Joel Julio last year, then had his liver pounded into submission by Miguel Cotto.

Berto has had some issues with crafty veterans in the past, and Quintana's southpaw stylings could befuddle the oft-flatfooted former Olympian. Who wins in this fight? What does it do for Berto's career long-term?

It's a great fight because Quintana may be comfortable with the lessened amount of pressure that he'll see from Berto. Berto won't be bearing down on Quintana like Cotto was. The fight will be fought at more of a distance where Quintana can get off those long 1-2's and get out.

I just wonder if Berto's hand speed will nullify Quintana's slick defensive ability. We might see Berto landing shots that Julio was just missing...

Good fight though. Berto should probably be the favorite, but we have already seen Quintana make a heavily favored opponent look like an ass.

Berto by ko. Quintanna is nothing special, Berto is what Quintanna doesn't want to fight a fighter that can press him and who can punch. Berto is no Julio.

Weird...I could have sworn that's exactly what Joel Julio was. Any further insight there? When has Berto shown he's great at pressing his opponents? Especially one as seemingly skilled as Quintana?

Pressing a broken down David Estrada just doesn't cut it.

If anything, it'll be Berto's variety of punches and quick hands that get him the win in my eyes.

Good fight........I don't think Berto is the easy target Julio was but he's also certainly not at Cottos level yet.....which somewhere in the middle should be enough to get a workman like UD and learn alot in the process over a quality fighter like Quintana.

The Estrada fight and the Cosme Rivera fight are fights that tell the tale.

What does Julio and Berto have in commen? Cosme Rivera. Julio just kept following Rivera, while Berto cut off the ring. Both went down against Rivera so they share this aswell.

That's true, Berto did show a more well-rounded plan of attack against Rivera. Berto was able to pressure Rivera into the ropes while Julio just kinda waded into range and was picked off with combos.

To me CQ is awkward enough to give Berto problems. Berto has good hand speed & power but his defense is very leaky. This would be a really good fight.
