That was not Oscar De La Hoya we saw fighting Floyd Mayweather, it was a different guy. Ever since Oscar became a promoter he has lost his mind and his fire in the ring. He could've beat Floyd that night if he used his jab, but he just didn't seem to care and he let his fans down on Cinco De Mayo. Floyd didn't fight the real Oscar, he fought an eccentric promoter that likes to dress like a woman. If Floyd fought a prime Oscar, he would be killed.
Why does Floyd get so much credit for barely beating a washed up Drag Queen ?

yeah he cared more about the money he was gonna make instead of focusing on how to actually win the fightComment

Like the prime Oscar who almost got beat (some thought he did get beat) by a washed up on crack Pernell Whitaker???
That prime Oscar.......or the one who was literally running away from Tito the last few rounds and called it a boxing lesson?? That Oscar
Floyd Mayweather is a better fighter then Oscar Period.
Facts: Oscar hired Floyd sr to learn how to fight like Lil Floyd. The shoulder roll and all of that. He knows what's really good.
Floyd looks up to Oscar's popularity and pay per view sales AND Oscar looks up to Floyd's boxing skills.

Yeah, he might have actually thrown the fight. Did you see how effective Oscar was when he used his jab, he could have won a UD no problem. Larry Merchant asked Oscar after the fight why he didn't use the jab and Oscar never gave him an answer. This means that Floyd is a FRAUD.Comment

The weight of being Mayweather's opponent, and also the promoter was not an ideal scenario when going to war with PFP Number 1.
But to say Oscar was not geared up and ready for this fight is madness. The world followed both fighters on their epic journey to fight night, and we had all known that they were ready. If not cemented through the millions of articles, interviews, qoutes and quips, we saw this through 24/7.
Oscar wanted this fight. He just wasn't good enough.Comment
