Especially since he's rematching to what some believe to be the fight of the year in just 4 months.
That's what I meant... I didn't mean that people will be shocked to learn that Kelly Pavlik is still the middleweight champion of the world.

I just think all this **** about him destroying everyone at 160 (like KOs that cause death 50% of the time) will die down as soon as another young prospect gets a big win.

I think you are right about Cotto/Mosley and Calzaghe/Kessler... but I think only the younger, less known fighters are the ones who get all the praise. It will have to be a win by Cotto and Kessler for them to get press. Everyone already knows Calzaghe and Mosley, so it won't be a giant surprise is they win.

      You know?

I see what you're saying. It's true that the younger guys, because they haven't lost yet, and because they have more room to grow and improve, will get more props and hype from the fans. Whereas if Joe C and Mos win, most fans will view it as "They just did what they were supposed to do." Beating Kessler and Cotto, respectively, would be legacy wins for them, rather than a glimpse of future possibilities.

yea like the way he got handled by Taylor really lowered my view of Pavlik.
I saw his record, and I thought wow, this guy will beat Taylor by KO, and he did, but to see him being belted at the beginning of the fight detracted my high view of him.

Oh well, he's the youngest top 20 middleweight, so he has time to improve if what you say is true.

funny how people NOW want to change their mind and admit that Taylor has power...

before the Pavlik fight, people said he couldn't crack and egg

Pavlik has a very good chin, look at how he took the big rights from MIranda in rounfd four of that fight (albeit on the cheekbone, not the chin). He isn't a fluid boxer but he's a very good combination puncher and he has outstanding power. Those are enough strengths to overcome a few minor flaws.
