Gomez sucks and fights boxers who are past their primes. Now, he wants to fight cotto because he knows he can get a big fat paycheck for taking a beating against cotto. Ben Tackie/ Gatti in their prime easily destroy Gomez.

AC: Well quickly, there's some big fights coming up in your weight class, one being with Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley. How do you see that fight going?

AG: Well I really kinda want Miguel Cotto to win because I'm looking forward to fighting him next year hopefully. I feel that fight can build interest because of the Mexican and Puerto Rican kind of rivalry that's been going on for many years, like De La Hoya vs Trinidad and Chavez vs. Camacho. Shane Mosley is definitely a veteran and I've never seen him not be composed in the ring. He always knows what he's doing and follows his gameplan. Miguel Cotto is the type of fighter that tries to wear you down and get you to throw your gameplan out the window, but I don't see Mosley folding in this fight so I'm kinda leaning towards Mosley.

LMAO.. People act like Alfonzo Gomez hasn't BEATEN a DECENT supermiddleweight. Gomez can take a VERY good punch. True, Manfredo isn't the hardest puncher in the world, but he's still the naturally bigger fighter. He fought nothing but middleweights, essentially all of 5 fights ago. He has fast hands, good balance, very good beard, nice enough foot work, good stamina and can keep the fight at a boxers range when he needs to. (Like when he injured his hand against Tackie and kept throwing it to win rounds effectively boxing) If he shows the same progress in his next to fights. I see that as a pretty good fight. Though, he should hope Cotto loses, and then builds himself back up and they can have more of a crossroads matchup. That'd be more likely for him. Because if Cotto wins, I see him facing Mayweather anyway.

Cotto would KO Gomez in 4 or 5 rounds in a massacre. Gomez dosen't have the power to hurt Cotto, he would get literally steamrolled. Gomez thinks he is a great fighter now because he beat a shot to hell Arturo Gatti. I wanna see Cotto shut this clown up.

I agree with that, which is why I stated that I don't think it will happen. I'd watch him against Judah though, that'd be a decent lilttle step up for him.
