The way to beat Calzaghe is don't initiate the action, let him come forward looking at the canvas, hit him coming in and don't let him hold you and hit you (which has been his main tactic in his career, grabbing your arm and wailing his left hand (punching in the clinches))
I completely disagree with your Hopkins beating Calzaghe theory. Hopkins' punch output is probably about half of Calzaghe's. How is he going to win? He isn`t going to KO Calzaghe.

Your theory on beating Calzaghe is to not initiate the action? Thats a pretty simplistic tactic isn`t it, you are saying to fight like a pure counter puncher....that is probably the worst tactic possible against someone who throws 4 or 5 punches at a time.

KBALL made this video, but as you can clearly see. Kesslers back is on the ropes in it. But he is blocking quite good.
**** off! You posted 1000+ bull**** posts before you bothered to watch some fights, and finally change your oppinion. Yes I've seen every single fight of Kessler, and plenty of Joe.

Does he in any way look caught against those ropes? He's gone with ease.

Nice video KBALL, and the prediction is pretty good.

im inclined to agree with orange, joe has a great jab that he uses from range mainly to set those flurries of his up, he tends to jump in to fire the quick combos off so i think a good tactic would be to time joe and throw as soon as he starts to come in, however jc feints well and bounces in and out very quickly. bika had some success by not being intimidated and really trying to rough jc up, when he threw it bikas straight right was v effective also

I find it hard to think of any way to beat his style because you cant trade as he's to fast, you cant box him as he's a southpaw and is to fast yet again. so what can you do to beat him?
The only way i can see of beating him is to get dirty ala sakio bika, you should try and rough him up, punch in clinches and generally use rough house tactics against him.
Also who inthe world is good enough to use the type of tactics listed to beat him. The only man in my eyes would have been hopkins, but hes so old he couldnt keep up the pressure of joe.
he throws lots f weak punhes so a very tight guard is essential but you have to let your hands go

back up and make him come in hitting with hard straight shots as he does

the jab and the streight right are your priniciple weapons against calzaghe
