Why do you root for the boxer you root for.

I root for Joe Calzaghe because he said as a child he was really picked on in school. And if that is the truth, then I have mad respect for him and how much he has accomplished becoming world champion of the super-middle weight division. I know almost everyone gets picked on in school, because frankly alot of us bully each other. But I heard he had it quite bad, and so did I. I know I made a topic awhile back about this. But theres no way in hell I can find something I made probably half-a year ago. Good luck Calzaghe!!!

I'm American, incase no one here knew. I'm not british.

Anthony Mundine : Why a lot of Aboriginals have strugelled after european colonisation. He is the most successfull. Battled racism throughout his upbringing and football career. Yet made it to state of origin, the hardest and highest game in rugbly league. Then was laughed at when he said he would be a world champion. He has achieved that now. And has gained respect from Australia.

Oscar De La Hoya: Surely his rise to boxing glory was not just from hard work. He had some kind of devine intervention. When he was in the olympic gold medal fight he threw a punch with his eyes closed that knocked his opponent out. After his mother passed away he is a symbol of courage. On top of that he knows how to manage money well and is a sensible human.

How about Pacquiao making a quarter of a dollar per day to a quarter of ten million dollars per fight.

                Nothing beats that IMO.

Yes and in Australia aboriginals have a real tough time. Ever since the stolen generation a lot of them have turned to drinking and drugs. He is a role model for others and their is not many sporting role models out their for aboriginals. He doesn't drink or gamble, something which a lot of aboriginals are not following. He has battled a lot of racism. And a lot of people say he is is an arse hole. Yet a lot of the ignorant things he says can't be justified you have to respect a guy who strives so hard and works so hard to reach his goals. Giving hope to thousands of young aboriginals out there.
