I already knew this. Floyd detests Arum and I don't see them doing business with one another anytime in the future. Why do you think Floyd wants Mosley to win the bout.

Money is the root of their problems. Floyd feels Arum didn't bring Floyd up and give Floyd the type of money he believes he deserved. Point.Blank.Period.

Top Five Reasons Floyd Mayweather Jr. Will Never Fight Miguel Cotto

21.06.07 - By Mike Cassell: In case anybody is wondering, Miguel Cotto is the real deal. He showed the world exactly what he is capable of doing against “world class”, former title holder, Zab Judah. Last year, after Miguel Cotto totally destroyed a fabulous fighter in Carlos Quintana, Bob Arum gave an interview in Atlantic City, that should be played for every promoter and fighter in the world..

Long before Mayweather and De La Hoya stepped into the ring, Arum gave reasons why boxing is in the “doldrums’” as he phrased it, and why De La Hoya and Mayweather, two fighters he promoted to success, won’t fight the fighters that matter. He knew Cotto would one day be sitting where he is now, and he knew neither of his former fighters would ever look in Cotto’s direction.

I could really care less if Oscar De La Hoya wants to fight Miguel Cotto. There are just too many reasons why that fight is not what people want to see. Floyd Mayweather has not faced a fighter like Cotto, and truth be told, be probably never will. Not if he knows what is good for him.

Arum put it beautifully, but I would like to take Bob Arums statements a step further. Below are legitimate reasons I believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. will do EVERYTHING possible NOT to get into the ring with Miguel Cotto.

#5. Cotto can cut the ring off. For some reason, with all of his teachings, and different trainers, Oscar De La Hoya has never learned to do so. It is why he lost.

#4. Mayweather knows that fighting Cotto, is like having a few fights in one night. It would be a bruising and devastating night, that may just send him into a real retirement, not the one he scripted for HBO.

#3. Mayweather knows he got away with murder, and a lot of money against De La Hoya. As long as people are ****** enough to pay to watch him run backwards for 12 rounds, he is going to take the money. Why should he fight a real competitive fight?

#2. The Feud. There are obviously bad feelings between he and Top Rank. Top Rank made him a superstar, but I guess good old Bob Arum wanted him to fight real competition. Imagine that.

#1. Cotto is stronger, and has the will of a champion. Arum put it best when he said “Cotto will fight anybody, and I mean anybody”. Floyd Mayweather has made the same statement, followed by the same phrase, “pay me”. I have a feeling Miguel Cotto is fighting for something other than money. He knows this in his heart, and Mayweather knows it to. That’s the best reason of all he will never face Cotto.

I think Mayweather is a great boxer with tremendous skill, but Cotto’s skill, and more importantly, his will ,would be too much for the “pretty boy” the “golden boy” or any other fighter in his weight class. Miguel Cotto is no boy, he is a man.
