this is one of the weakest era's in boxing. Mayweather is just a safety first borefest like Sven Ottke. If he beats Ricky 'leads with his face' Hatton it means nothing. History wont be kind to gayweather.

Not quite sure what Duran has to do w/ Mosley for this conversation.... Anytime you're talking about a fantasy fight there's no actual correct decision. The past is always glorified while the present is looked down upon.

"The Worst Heavyweight Division Ever" has been running strong w/ that title for what seems like a decade.
duran is considered the greatest lightweight of all time,
mosley was handicapped by fighting in a bad era of lightweights.
there is a thread around these forums that ask the question was mosley unbeatable at lightweight?oscar fought pernell whitaker won a disputed decision, lost to tito in a disputed decision
and got knocked out on a body by hopkins.he fought better fighters, just cause floyd has yet to lose, doesn't mean he's better all time.maybe it's by the fact that his competition wasn't as good as oscar.

I think you missed my point... or I didn't state it clearly.

THe problem is we always gorifly the history... even recent history. We give a lot of fighters that ODLH fought a lot of credit regardless of their win/loss. Assuming Floyd fights for 2-4 more years and continues w/ his types of fights his resume will seem very similar to that of ODLH.

Quartey, Vargas, Sturm, etc... a lot of these fighters are looked upon much more highly than they should be. They're solid fighters, just like a lot of names on Floyd's resume.

But I digress, it's simply people hating on Floyd's resume because it is active. Most of the fighters on it have not retired and have plenty of fights left in them to solidify their legacies to help Floyd's.

LMAO at the comparison between Sven Ottke and Floyd Mayweather.
From what I hear Sven Ottke has gotten alot of hometown decisions swung his way which is why he retired. He was lucky to retire undefeated and is not a great fighter. His country can say he is great but he is not.

From what i've seen Mayweather gets hometown decisions also, which is why he never goes abroad to fight in case one of the judges has the nerve to score a round against him.

Mayweather is going to be exposed in December. Even if he wins on a cuts decision, he still morally loses every time he fights by running
