    Just watched Sturm VS Griffin

what a bull**** decision.. Griffin was hittin gloves all night.. He was the more active fighter, thats all.. Sturm was extremely accurate all night with sharp fast punches. Griffin was just throwing light meaningless punches that were blocked with ease.

I truly dont get the decision, A draw makes no sense what so ever.

but then again, neither did the fight against de la hoya..

Judges arent fans of boxers who run a boxing clinic in the ring.. they like guys that are full out exciting.. not guys with superior defensive, speed, and technical skills like Felix Sturm

I'm a fan of Sturm, but I have to say this was his weakest performance, aside from the KO loss to Castillejo, in years. He started boxing perfectly as usual, then looked like he ran out of gas and lost some rounds because he stopped throwing punches as he was doing early in the fight. Sturm looked the better fighter technically, but his lack of activity in some rounds made the fight closer than it should have been.

He's always going to have controversial decisions with that style. He let Oscar outwork him too.

Its really too bad, because he is so skilled.. and people will likely never get the chance to know it.

But please dont tell me you think oscar won...

I agree. He was not active enough. It seems he lacks stamina.(maybe lifting to much weights?) But Griffin had one hell of a condition, the guy went an great pace and threw verry much punches. He outworked Sturm and i had Griffin ahead with 2 points. Sturm was just not active and mobile enough. Sturm is developing in the wrong direction. He was not as mobile and elusive as he could be. It was ******, he often stand there toe to toe but just standing behind his average double-guard and not throwing enough punches. I thought he was trying to fight like Abraham, but he lacks the power to stop his opponents. he has to fight different, move and weave and throw combinations. I can live with a draw but i had Griffin ahead. Sturm doesnt belong to the Top fighters at 160 right now. Abraham, Pavlik and Taylor would all beat him and propably all of them would stop him.

Think I had it a draw. Sturm could have won. I'm not mad at either decision because Oscar outworked him, but Sturm landed harder punches. It all has to do with what you favor more. Oscar won 4 out of the first 6 rounds on activity alone. You cant win a fight by standing back with you hands up while you opponent scores with punches.

He looked discouraged at times, but he was in with a natural Middleweight, and Oscar's a natural Welterweight. The fact that he was out of shape, and still rocked Sturm early speaks volumes imo.

I don't see how anyone could watch that fight objectively and call it the biggest robbery ever, which I have heard on more than one occasion. Oscar was landing plenty of body shots.
