These boxers are not bums, and they are on Calzaghes resume. They're not the best, but they're far from bums. People are just Calzaghe haters. And he fought Sheika and Reid in their primes.

Sakio Bika, Jeff Lacy, Evans Ashira, Mario Veit, Byron Mitchell, Richie Woodhall, Omar Sheika, Robin Reid, and chris eubank

I think he can be the biggest Brit of our generation, Bernard Hopkins passed Monzon in title defenses and true if B-Hop was in Monzon's era guys like Nino Benvenuti or even Monzon himself would break his jaw but he WASN'T and he's credited for doing something he didn't truly do, number wise? yes, fighter wise? no, and it's the same with Joe. he got skills and is talented but much like Roy Jones he was cursed to be in a division where there were no other known gladiators to prove himself, a fighter that a win over would solidify him, Roy had to go to Heavyweight and even still it was his RISK that made that fight what it was because Roy didn't even face one of the best(he is to me but I'm looking at reality here) he just faced a title holder, it's now where Ruiz is looking good but then he was very very sloppy..

back then it was the fighters being the challenge, in todays date it's the weight being the challenge but the sport ain't caled weighting it called Boxing and thats why NO boxer from this era can really contend with those from another era unless their skills speak for themselves. if Ricky loses to Floyd he may very well be the best of our time with his defences to back him up, his title reign is well respected here, now nor then has it been easy to do some **** like that and stay undefeated for over 10 years.. on the books he will look amazing but to us who KNOW the fighters he faced we know that if placed back in the golden days of his class he would have been singing another tune.. imagine Calzaghe againt Jose Torres ("that's murder, it be straight murder").. it can't be taken away from him what he has done because he's the only one of our time to do so besides B-Hop but to say he's the best EVER, nah homie just keep reaching for the stars though.. he IS 1 of the best, just not THE best.. 100

The greatest Supermiddleweight to ever put on Gloves was Roy Jones Jr...That was the closest thing to being unbeatable I have ever witnessed....and at 168 or even 175 up until the jump to HW he would have ruined Calzaghe.anyone who thinks different is either mentally retarted of Frank Warren

Stop hugging Joes nuts. Its sickening! Has he ever done anything wrong in your eyes?

I bet you think Kessler would destroy roy jones too.. Roy jones is overrated, and Kessler would beat Jones aswell. Theres only two big names on jones resume that he beat and thats hopkins and toney.

Regardless wether RJJ could take a punch pre Tarver or not fact is it didnt make that much difference cause no one could hit him pre Tarver anyway ,its clear he never fought the best out there and you could argue that he walked away from a competitive SMW division to step into a dire division in the light heavyweight for what ever reason

taking all this into accout he was still the best SMW ever IMO how ever if Calzghe beats Kessler u can argue the fact either way IMO,

Roy Jones Jr would literally have destroyed Joe, I respect Joe to the FULLEST but that whole flurry **** wont work on a prime Roy, Roy would have danced circles and taunted him so much he would have made it look easy.. Roy may have left that doubt but by watching them both fighting at that time a fight between the 2 wasn't necessary, and even still I heard Jones wanted to fight Calzaghe in Wales a long time back and Hopkins even said "if Roy Jones beats Calzaghe in Wales then Roy will be the man in his eyes", that was in an interview I read over at BT a while back, to have B-Hop say something like that about you is crazy.. Calzaghe wouldn't have done much to Jones, I don't think it would have been a down for the count KO but more like a TKO, either that or a WIDE Unanimous Decision..

Joe Calzaghe has heart and skills, probably could have walked Jones down using his face as a shield but Jones was in another level, his speed and unorthodox style alone would have allowed Jones to hit Cal in ways he has never felt before, it would have been too much for Joe, I say Joe fights good going back wards too but Jones being the ring technician he is would have known and exploited that, made Joe press the fight and just rock him all day, NOBODY within Middleweight-Light Heavyweight in that era where Jones was in his prime would have beaten him, the tough B-Hop types would have lost a decision and the lesser ones like Griffin and Telesco get KO'ed, no 2 ways about it because Roy was unfathomable in those weights, it's just truth dogz, that one doubt will allow for you to go on forever with this **** but look at their styles, look at the way they destroyed their opponents then compare them against each other and don't be a fan about it either, be a analyst.. 100

The fact is that Calzaghe and Jones are both slick type style fighters, and Calzaghe is a southpaw which should give him the age. I think Roy Jones was faster, but I think Calzaghe was more constant and he isn't that slow either. I just think Roy is faster. Calzaghe would give Roy big problems, more then roy giving calzaghe problems. Tarver didn't give Roy problems because Tarver is this insanely good boxer. Tarver gave Jones problems because Tarvers a southpaw.
