This could hurt the sport of boxing. I hope it doesn't go thru although it looks like its a done deal.
WBC will also implement half-point scoring

I don't think the problem has ever really been about the system itself. It just so happens that humans are judging fights and see things differently. Judging is objective and that is not something we can change unless we used robots.
That's just the way it always will be.Comment

I’m positive about it! If a fighter wins 6 close rounds, and goes on to be dominated for the last 6, it shouldn't be a draw.
Many questionable point-wins/draws would not happen. I remember a German champ, who remained unbeaten only because every close round was given to him.
Fighters, who win each round in the last 10 seconds, would also have these new rules against them.Comment

that's why i say **** the judges let the compubox numbers tell who the **** the winner is.in every other sport it's about opponents scoring against each other, this **** isn't ****ing gymnastics.I don't think the problem has ever really been about the system itself. I mean there is a positive side to it...
For example..
One round, fighter A dominates, and fighter B isn't doing anything... that will make it a 10:9 round in favor for fighter A
In another round, fighter B decides to comeback and does more than fighter A and wins that round, but fighter B was very competitive...
Would it be fare to fighter A if the round was scored as a 9:10? I mean he did a lot more than B in that other round..
So I guess 9.5:10 would seem fare.
But I think it will create more problems than benefits.. This way, unless knocked out, a champ, or the favorite fighter will always win, as the judges will always find a way to make the fights a lot closer in their favor even in losing rounds...Comment
