I mean they really really have made hatred for him and I was just wondering whats the deal? Every fighter has fans and non fans but its been a long time since a guy has been ripped like this. Again, what I really want to know is what changed from people hating Floyd to people really really really hating him?

If youve been on this boad for awhile then you know what Im talking about. There was always hate but nothing like this. Its to the point now where I dont even think people can judge rounds in his fight fairly because he is hated so much and they would probally give all the close rounds to the opponent no matter what. They will be looking to take rounds from Floyd. He has to totally dominate it or it will look bad on him.

Thats besides the point though. What changed? Was it the fact that he beat Oscar that just took people over the edge? or is it that combined with him now fighting Hatton? The fans are similar to the media. They changed also. A ton of the media has always hated Floyd also but then it changed to pure despise for him. It also maybe has to do with the fact that he retired or will soon retire again. I think it might be because he's getting older now and they know that he doesnt have many more chances to lose before he hangs the gloves up. I dont mean this thread as a joke or anything. I really want to know what put you over the edge. Even the people on here that hated Floyd, never hated him like this. Now they just cant stand him at all.

Its funny because I was thinking the other day about what if Floyd & Shane won and fought eachother. Even though alot of people wanted to see that fight at 1st, I think he would be totally ripped for making that fight. They would say that now he is trying to fight a old past his prime guy. Nevermind the fact that Shane has just been killing guys again. Nevermind the fact that he had just beat Cotto who everyone was bragging on, he all of assudden becomes not good enough to fight Floyd. Its kind of like ripping Floyd for fighting Zab after the Baldy loss and not giving him credit for it but then turning Cotto into a God for beating Zab even after all that had happened and he was suspended for a year. He wouldve had to look like a beast to beat Cotto but people would make it out to be a bad thing because its Floyd even though right now there making Cotto out to be a tough guy for fighting him. I almost hope the scenerio doesnt play out now because Floyd would be toast on this board and in the media even though Shane just beat the young lion, Margarito has already looked average in his previous fights, and Williams only has 1 good win

Its cause they like they black fighters to act like stepin fetchit.

Like your boy Margarito who acted like he was ducked when in reality only the businessmen didn't want to fight him. Guys like Williams wanted a peace of him and he almost pussied out. If it wasn't for the mandatory position that Paul enforced on him, he would have never fought him because he knew he was gonna lose. Margarito is no different. Just another tough guy trying to get in and make that cash AND because he can't he will cry about being ducked.

The only fighter he avoided is the Mexican Ray Robinson Margarito.

The reason the Mexican Ray robinson lost his last fight is because
the judges were racist against Mexicans.

I may have said in prior threads i "hate" floyd mayweather jr but i dont think thats accurate.

Truth is i dont like him outside of the ring (acts like a ****y, immature brat) who compares himself to some of the greatest fighters to ever lace up a pair of boxing gloves. I dont think its up to him to decide if he falls into the club of the greatest of all time.

I dont like how all the man cares about is money and with every fight it seems more and more apparent that he only want money and doesnt care about anything else. I havent seen a great showing of heart from floyd mayweather jr in a LONG time.

usually this works the other way around, when you're a newcomer to the sport you hunt down the big money fights and once you've got enough to live happily you fight only with pride and hopes of enhancing your career.

mayweather would fight ANYONE if the money was right and its just pathetic.

On the other hand you have a Miguel Cotto who willingly took a cut in pay with Shane Mosley to make the big fights happen.

I dont like him in the ring for very similar reasons

          1. He boasts to always go toe to toe when realistically we all know its just trash talking and a ploy to sucker in the casual boxing fans who dont know him better than that.

If you're going to say you're going toe to toe then go toe to toe.

          2. He doesnt come to fight.

Mayweather comes to collect a paycheck...he dances all around the ring and potshots you all the way to an easy decision (and sometimes gift decisions)

          3. Too ****y.

He boasts WAY too much. he makes a fool out of himself with his hall of fame boxer comparisions; immature attitude; etc. and this is suppose to be the current p4p champion of the world?

          what a joke.

I dont like his fan boys either...just like the pacquiao fan boys.

they all sit there like they're ready to blow his ****...

i think floyd is a tremendous athlete. I think floyd is in the top 3 of the best of this generation (next to a prime oscar de la hoya and prime Shane Mosley) and nots not saying he cant be beat by a current welterweight other than mosley...remember; styles make fights.

anyway i just dont like it when after a mayweather fight the fanboys come on here and boast how it wasnt even close and floyd clearly won; etc. etc.

the Oscar De La Hoya/Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight was close (even though half of the fanboy's will say it wasnt).

i had it 115-113 De La hoya.

Thats my opinion. In my opinion oscar beat him...

but that doesnt mean i didnt score the fight without a biased opinion.

You also have to remember it was a very difficult fight to score due to the fact the fighting styles were so different you had to take it into consideration.

floyd fought a defensive chess match and oscar fought a keep coming forward and punch punch punch type fight.

so you have to account for everything.

i still am man enough to admit i think Floyd Mayweather Jr will more than likely beat hatton.

will i be hoping for hatton? yes.

will it effect my perception of what happens during the 12 rounds on dec. 8th? no...

favorites are opinion but what ACTUALLY happens in 12 rounds is fact and i dont twist facts.

Some people hate Floyd because of his pure ****yness and arrogance towards other fighters who have accomplished much in their careers. Im not saying Floyd hasn't because that would just be simple lies. We know what he has achieved but some people don't see the reason in him remiding us all the time or saying hes the best ever when there may be greater fighters before him. I don't hate floyd but i can see why other people do.

If Hatton wins excuses will be made to protect Floyd in one way or another just the same as if Hatton loses, its just the way some people are.

I'd rather just sit back and let them state their opinions on the man.

Floyd landed more power punches than Oscar had Total punches and frank says he won 115- 113. That's just laughable. Oscar won 4 rds maybe and that's being nice. And to me it looked like Floyd was carrying him in the fight, it was almost as if he was saying come on Oscar do something

Here is my response to what Ive read so far. I think that its fair to hate someone for the way they act. I dont have a problem with the way he acts but I could see how others would. Still, I dont think a ton of people on these boards are very hypocritical. I bet anything that alot of the same people who talk about the way Floyd acts are the same people who go to "football games in Europe" and act like a damn fool. Why do you people get mad for Floyd saying he is the greatest but you guys praise Ali for the exact same things?

Here is the #1 thing that I talk about the most when it comes to Floyd that I think is unfair and Ive heard it again alot in these responses. They talk about the way he fights and the guys he's fighting at WW while praising guys like Cotto, Margarito, Williams, and so on. I have always thought that was so unfair and that people dont look at the facts. The fact is that Floyd is P4P the smallest guy in boxing. He's not big at all. He only moved up for the pay day with Oscar. If Oscar wasnt around or was a smaller cat then Floyd wouldve stayed at 135 until now almost and finished his career at 140. If he had did that then no one would be clowning the way he fights. Also, people still keep acting like theyve only seen his last 2 fights. In his 6 fights before they he fought alot. Baldy & Oscar were just way too big for him. He shouldve really never even been in the ring with them. Sure he talks trash about going toe to toe but fighters lie about what there going to do all the time. When other people in sports do that they call it gamesmenship.

People praise the way guys like Cotto and them fight but its not the same at all. How many times have those guys fought someone bigger then them? Some of the times the guys are the same size and mostly every other time they are the bigger man and usually much bigger. You guys act like that doesnt change the way you fight? You guys think Floyd is going to fight a guy at LW or 140 the same way he does Oscar at 154 or Baldy who is basically a 154 pounder? He cant do it. Let those guys fight people 20 pounds bigger then them or move up to there 5th weight class and see how aggressive they look. If they dont box then they will get KO cold and early. Thats why they never move up. They like fighting smaller men but they call Floyd a ***** for the way he's fighting even though he's always much smaller then his opponent. Again, in his 6 fights before Baldy he was very aggressive.

Also, lets not act like Cotto took a pay cut to fight Shane because that is not true at all. Cotto hasnt even came close to having a good selling PPV while Mosley has put up big numbers. On top of that the fight is in NY which is basically Cotto's hometown. Cotto is a super popular boxer in the media and with fans but dont confuse that with sells just yet. He's not Tito. He got paid what he could get paid. He didnt take a cut at all

And Castillo also lost 5 rounds straight in that fight, he was just active and effective in the rds he won.
