    Boxrec: Good for boxing?

A lot of people seem to have problems with it... because it only gives non-in-depth results. I agree that boxrec results can be ridiculously misleading. I haven't seen Demetrius Hopkins vs. Steve Forbes... I've heard it was a very close fight that probably should have gone to Forbes, but boxrec tells me that it was 118-110 in Demetrius Hopkins's favor.

On the other hand, it is nice to know where to place fighters in the sport, because I haven't had nearly enough time to watch all the major fights of all the great fighters of today. If not for boxrec, I might have thought that Shane Mosley was not a very good fighter, because I had only seen his two fights vs. Winky Wright, or I might have thought that Vernon Forrest sucks ass because he got beat by Ricardo Mayorga twice.

I am actually pretty split on my opinion for this one, so I am going to abstain in the poll, but I am curious what people actually think about boxrec.

For checking up on fighters records, it's great, you can find out what sort of competition they've been in against and so on.

Whether the outcomes of the fights seemed fair or not is left to the forums like these.

Boxrec is the imdb of the Fight game in a way.

it's a whole fighter database dedicated to ALL fighters of all times, it is very good for new Boxing fans who want to learn more about the fighters and it helps those Boxing fans who can't quite remember the name of the guy such and such faced, the round such and such got knocked out, fighter stats, world rankings, updated new.. I could go on and on so YES I feel Boxrec is great for Boxing and it's fans, it might be off point sometimes but they cover guys from way back in the day, I like Boxrec, I voted yes.. 100

The scorecards for some fights can be misl;eading, but thats just the way boxing is scored. There is often much more to the fight than just the stats.

Boxrec is great. Its a amazing source for alot of information. It definatly gives the sport another dimension. Anyone can research any fighters record.

I dont know much about Kessler, and wasnt that impressed with his record in terms of his opponents. Luckily Youtube illustrated how good he actually is.

How has it taken the fun out of boxing? Being able to access a fighters record and being able analysis it, could be consider more fun that not knowing anything about a particular fighter.

Exactly if Boxing didn't have a site like Boxrec the ****ing sport would be in the dark ages.

I don't see any negatives with it.
