Who's Better Boxing Network HBO or SHOWTIME?

Who actually does cover Boxing best? HBO are excellent with Lamps, Merchant and Manny. Showtime also with Bernstein, Steve Farhood and Steve Albert. Who would you pick???

HBO has the better roster of fighters, therefore they win. That's not to discredit Showtime though, the network that's brought us Castillo/Corrales and Marquez/Vazquez.

I am more used to HBO, they have the more established cast of commentators, BUT if we talking in terms of which network is better for the sport I would have to go with Showtime because they showcase the new talent of Boxing, they have little shows and documentaries breaking down the histories that was made in Boxing and overall in 1 month you'll see more Boxing on Showtime than what you will on HBO, SHO got the PPV's, the SHO-Box show and SHOwtime Championship Boxing as well as the re runs of older fights.. overall Showtime offers more in terms of Boxing and has showcased a lot of HBO fighters as well as HBO showcasing SHO fighters, HBO may have the better name fighters SIGNED to them but SHO does more for Boxing, they showcase more talent.. 100

Ok it comes down to this, HBO has less frequent fights then Showtime. HBO saves their airtime for the high profile fights not saying Showtime doesn't have them also. But the big difference for me is the PUNCH COUNTS, i mean goddamn Showtime get your **** together. Tell me how many they hit or threw, that sucks not having it.

              HBO

              Pros

              - High Profile Fights
              - High Profile signed fighters (the list goes on forever)
              - Has punchstats
              - Usually has the best PPV's

              Cons
              - PPV's are much more expensive than shotime's ppvs on average
              - Much less fights than shotime (3 fights a month on a good month)
              - Less boxing shown on the network period (not as many previews and reruns of older fights)

              Shotime

              Pros

              - Has the new talent in the sport and many on hbo were originally on shotime
              - has much more boxing (sometimes on friday AND saturday nights)
              - PPV's are generally much cheaper than hbo ppv's
              - Has tons of specials on the sport

              Cons
              - Overall doesnt provide the biggest names in the sport
              - Coverage isnt as great (no punchstats, etc.)

                  HBO.
Showtime is much better now that AL has joined them. But, HBO with overall better production and fighters wins it for me.

Don't forget about the Countdown shows, the 24/7 and the Legendary Nights programs that HBO has. They're bringing back 6 new episodes of "Legendary Nights" in 2008, don't forget, and they're resurrecting 24/7 in November for Mayweather-Hatton. Plus, they offer countdown shows for ever big profile fight.

They also have very good quality fights for FREE if you have HBO that is, like Taylor-Pavlik, Taylor-Wright, Diaz-Diaz, Guzman-Soto, etc.
