Lets see Mayweather beat a light welter before we start talking about him beating Hatton.
You don't remember him ducking Corley???? He was dropped from the WBO ratings for refusing to take his title shot. He was Corley's mandatory for over a freaking year and a half.
And Floyd has beaten a light welter-- the same Corley that Hatton and his management ran from. I'm not even a Floyd fan, I find him annoying. But the truth is the truth.

Yeah i remember him being mandatory but the fight was never mentioned, that was years ago and Hatton was busy with business in the UK. I doubt he want the WBO anyway because the lack of respect there UK champs get(Calzgahe, Harrison, Nelson).
Floyd beat Chop chop but it made him look weak. I hate Mayweather as a person but like him as a fighter, i watch a lot of Mayweather and rate him as p4p number 1 but i see untested Cotto and Hatton as having Floyd defeating styles.
elveiel, I read your post. You did say Cotto and Tszyu, I appologize. That being said, what about Harris? He's got a monster of a right hand. I understand your point of view but I don't think that he can keep Mayweather off of him. Mayweather's power is underrated and, I'd dare to say, he hits harder than anyone Ricky has faced to date.
Ricky is unproven, just like Jermain Taylor, Junior Witter, and others out there that have big followings but can't seem to "find" a fight with a top 10 opponent or someone who isn't blown up from another weight division. I think Ricky needs to step it up and should've fought Sharmba or Harris when he had the chance.

mmmm...Interesting Just a couple of points Junior Witter is tested he had a shot at the IBF title against Judah and clung on for 12 rounds of awful boxing - was totally outclassed. The only reason you think he's untested is because he's been fighting bums for the last two years and than bragging about how good he is. Mayweather is also to be fair untested at 140 against a top 10 boxer.

I doubt Mayweather bombs will hurt any top 5 light welter! I have seen Hatton take some good shots which look a lot harder than super feather floyd can give, I dont think Mayweather can keep Hatton off him and not the other way round.
I wasnt talking about Harris when i said he'd walk though the rest of them, it was only Mitchell and Mayweather. Although Harris isnt KOing at the moment he's still a dangerous puncher. That right hand he throws is a bomb!!
I understand why you would compare Taylor and Hattons situation but not Witter, he's a chump who doesnt want a big fight.
I dont think Hatton should have taken the Harris and Mitchell fight, He's the draw and to get chump change would be a joke. Anyway if Hatton untested so Mitchell, infact Mitchell has had one test and failed. Harris may be the WBA champ but he hasnt beaten a top 5 guy yet. Infact out of the whole divsion only Tszyu can say he's beaten some the best!
This is all my opinon and i dont expect others to think the same, i try to pick fights based on styles and physical advantages, i know you cant always be right. Maybe i'm wrong but until Mayweather shows me something a light welter i'm betting on a Hatton win.

Mayweather knows what style Hatton would bring so do you really believe he would fight Hatton the way he fought Corley. He dominated Corley even though Corley had his moments for a few seconds of the fight. Floyd's defense is very hard to penetrate if he doesn't want his opponents to hit him. He also moves very good and can hit Hatton and get out of the way quick enough before Hatton can get any offense going. Hatton is not stronger than Castillo in my opinion and Castillo was never able to really back Mayweather up even though he was applying tons of pressure so I don't think Hatton can just walk through Mayweather.

Against Mayweather, Castillo looked like a ploding journeyman but he still won the first fight(in most fans opinion).
Hatton weighs upto 160lbs on fight night, he's faster, bigger and Stronger than Castillo.
If Castillo had Hatton stamina and Workrate there would have been no doubts about Castillo winning, same with Chavez!
You have to remember that Castillo comes in weighing above the junior middleweight level as well. I believe thier strenght is about equal that's why I said I didn't believe Hatton is stronger. He's fast but Mayweather is faster. Castillo didn't force Mayweather to fight in the first fight. I believe it was Mayweather's choice to fight that way and I believe it was going to cost him the fight as I had Castillo winning a close fight. Mayweather made that adjustment in the second fight and won it fairly easy if you ask me. He wouldn't stand there and pick off shots from Hatton the way he did with Castillo in the first fight. He would move alot more and pick his shots and get out of the way of Hatton's return. Mayweather has way more things he can do in the ring than Hatton does.
