Tyson was a freak of nature. I really don't consider him a one punch KO fighter. What made him so devastating was his HAND SPEED. For someone that strong to have to be able to throw those combos...
As far as knock you dead power with one punch, it's a toss up between Lewis and Foreman imho.

I never claimed to know a fair bit about boxing. I have only claimed to have certain biases and I sure as hell know what and whom I like in the sport. You are solely responsible for your perception of me - and by extension - your judgement of my knowledge.

As for who had the hardest punch ever, my pick is Mike Tyson. I have never seen opponents manifest the effects of a punch the way Tyson's did...

I picked Shavers and I believe the visual and anectdotal evidence backs me up. That being said, I believe people could make a good case for Foreman, Liston, Tyson, Marciano, Louis, and Lewis. Those are ALL viable candidates, they are NOT off-the-wall picks. All were legitimate one-punch KO artists that deserve some consideration. I don't believe anyone should have his knowledge questioned for making a case for any of them. Like I said, ALL of them deserve some consideration.

sorry i said that only because he said that shavers is only a choice for a person who is trying to look like an expert in boxing. tyson was a hard hitter but shavers hit harder; with less precision and speed.

I don't know that the personal testimony of someone named Larry Holmes counts for anything in this debate, but Larry himself said, NO ONE HIT HIM HARDER THAN SHAVERS. Not even Mike Tyson whom he faced when he was 9 years older than he was when he met Shavers.

Tyson hit Pinklon Thomas with something like 18 unanswered punches before Thomas slumped to the canvas. I just think that if Shavers hit him with 18 unanswered punches, Pinklon would have been in the morgue.

foreman had heavier hands than someone like tyson, but his technique, speed, and use of angles weren't as good, therefore u saw less one punch kos or cases where a guy was basically done after a shot or two.

but foreman had amazingly heavy hands.
