Palle not happy about the ref. for Kessler-Calzaghe

According to Danish media, Mogens Palle complains about Mike Ortega being elected as the referee for Kessler-Calzaghe.
The main reason should be the Peter-McCline fight.

Ortega is the guy that let Peter fight on???

    GOOD!!!

Your SUPPOSED to let fighters keep going in HIGH stakes fights like that one.

ANd this fight between Kessler and Calzaghe is a VERY HIGH STAKES fight. If Calzaghe gets hurt, he's been earning the chance to fight on for the last 10 years. IF Kessler gets hurt, he's been fighting for this chance at the title his whole life, he deserves to fight on until is ABSOLUTELY OVER.

I still Say STEVER SMOGER should referee every fight in the world

haha steve smoger is a danger to all fighters. he never stops fights until one fighter is basically dead, your lucky he was in charge for taylor-pavlik because many other ref's out there would have stopped it by then.

Good this ref won't stop the fight until things are truly settled. That is the way all fights should be.

exactly. its a sign of a good ref if they let the fighters fight.

          These are peoples careers.

Sure safety comes first, but considering both Peter and Pavlik went on to fight many more hard rounds, they were gonna and are gonna be fine in the long run

True it's a fight and a big one at that. The boxers deserve to be giving a chance to keep on fighting even though their hurt. Plus the fans in the crowd and watching on TV deserve as well to see a fight go until it's totally proven who's the winner. Not a premature stoppage that we all don't want.

Why am I having a hard time getting excited about this (or any) CalSlappy fight?

He is a very good fighter. But the fact that he doesn't have a passport pisses me off. Does dude have a fear of flying?

During his era, the top fighters in/around his weight class have been Jones, Hopkins, Winky, Taylor, Pavlik, Tarver, Johnson, Toney, etc. How many of those guys will he have fought by the time he retires?

This Kessler fight is a great matchup between two top guys... but, viscerally, I'm not in it.

                  .
He actually does have a fear of flying. But not to the point where he can't fly completley, (been at U.S press conferences, etc) but more of the case if he can avoid it he will.

Don't blame Calzaghe that he hasn't been fighting in America it is more his promoter Frank Warren's doing. Warren has a view that mega fights don't necessarily have to be hosted in the states. He had the same attitude when Hatton was under him, and I think Ricky's desire to fight in America was one of the many reasons for their split.
