    Before he looked to finish Gatti he first made sure that Gatti had nothing that could hurt him. He started cautious and finished strong because Gatti had proven that he couldn't affect Floyd's defense. An offensive minded fighter would have looked to take out Gatti from the opening bell.

      but it wasnt a definitive 'finish' it was round after round of punishment. without thinking about it too much i would say floyds best finish was v angel manfredy, it was quick and not a sustained beating

        I think that Floyd has changed his approach since his first fight with Castillo and become more safety first. He was a knockout artist before that, now he's a defesive master but he does look to move and counter more than attack and finish.
