Bute - Berrio round by round

Introductions are going on. They love Bute in Montreal.

I'm still thinking of heading up to Rama next weekend to see Steve Molitor. Decent fighter, but he has a lousy nickname. "The Canadian Kid"? How'd you come up with that one?!

The ref doesn't speak French.... Round 1 begins

Both men feeling each other out, Alejandro looks loose, Bute looks stiff in his southpaw semi crouch as is customary. Bute misses with a straight left thrown with bad intentions. Berrio more aggressive now, bute looking to counter. Decent left for Bute. And another good left counter. Counter uppercut to the body scored by Bute, just before the end of the round.

Bute edges this cautious opener with crisp counters, but is looking to box off the back foot.

Ding ding round 2

Berrio looking to be the aggressor misses with wild punches. Bute scores with a crisp counter. Both men land hard punches at the same time, lucien looking stronger with a decent right hook. Another nice left from bute, and a left uppercut to the body. Bute circling, berrio following. Combo lands for Berrio, but not much on it. Bute wins the round with effective clean punches, Berrio is barely landing.

Round 3 begins, more of the same, berrio lands a couple. Beriio throwing bombsm hitting air. Bute isn't wasting much. Bute lands a big shot. Berrio counters to the body. Very wild though. Berrio lands one against the ropes, bute comes back with a three punch combo. Much closer round but Bute edges it, Berrio is throwing hard shots but seems to be telegraphing his punches. The worrying thing is that he's still landing them...

10-9 bute as Lucien builds up a lead with superior defense and sharp countering.

Round 4

Berrio landing more now, and lands a few big shots. Bute returns hard. Berrio putting his shots together more and having more success. Big left from Bute on the chin. Berrio unfazed. Berrio scoring to the body but just took another big counter. Bute's short punches get the better of Alejandro's looping bombs again. 10-9 bute, this fight is looking very one sided. Every time Berrio lands anything meaningful bute comes back strong.

Bute is not hurting Berrio. So far Berrio is not hurting Bute but he does appear dangerous.
