Fact of the matter is, Pavlik has had 2 straight big fights in a row, its ok if he takes a money fight, which this IS. There are plenty of other boxers to ***** about that fought about half the level of opposition in their last two fights.

Mayweather took the money fight with oscar, apparently know that he could outrun and outreach him in the ring. I thought it was a good decision to make the fight. Theres a reason theyre money fights, its because the people want to see them. And we know the people want to see pavlik and duddy because both those guys always have strong showings in the crowd.

There are money fights...and THERE ARE MONEY FIGHTS. You are talking about Floyd/Oscar which grossed 135 mil vs Pavlik/Duddy which will gross $3 mil. Max. With all due respect, that was not a good comparison.

You guys are a tad delusional. This is a boxing website full of hardcore fans. We are FAAAAAAR from a representative sample of the general public - or even the boxing public. As much as we all like the kid, nobody knows who Pavlik is. If you put his next fight against Duddy on PPV ...WOOD.

His popularity is TBD. Let's not pre-judge.

Secondly, you can't say that Pavlik is willing to take on all comers. We have ZERO evidence of that. Pavlik fought who he needed to fight to get a title shot. He earned that title shot and did the most with it. Fair play on him. But NOW is when we start to judge who he fights. Agreed? And John Duddy is about the 12th most deserving fighter he could have chosen.

The Pavlik talk comes from replying to another poster. You are right that we should start judging him from here on , but he is not off to a bad start fighting Miranda and taylor back to back winning impressively in both. Your right, fighting Duddy is not an elite fighter, but if he fights Duddy it will be because Taylor has declined a rematch, so at that point I would have no problem fighting Duddy to stay busy. As I said he just fought Miranda and Taylor back to back, he deserves an easier fight. You do make some good points though.

Theres the problem which you show your ignorance by not understanding, they arent sending the affirmative action cases to mediocre schools, theyre stealing spots at harvard and yale and all the way down the line(including the spot you stole at NYU).

Having said that, I honestly dont mind affirmative action for african americans because I have worked in the ****** of Bmore for 3 years trying to help at risk kids and teens make something out of their absolutely depressing lives. There is some truth to the need for some sort of reperations for slavery(in the form of affirmative action) for them similar to that we give to Native americans.
