That's how I feel too. Floyd has unbelievable skills and many years from now when he's retired, he's going to be regarded as one of our greats, not a doubt about it. And when he's gone, many of his haters will accept him.

Just remember, Floyd is excellent for boxing. If you accept him as the bad guy, then great, that's what can make great fights. Good vs Bad. Floyd said it himself, he chose to be the bad guy for De la Hoya.

Listen guys. Would we have had as remarkable a year without Oscar-Floyd and Hatton-Floyd. These two were the major fights pumping everyone up.

Course you're gonna shoot back Taylor-Pavlik, but let's be real here, Floyd's fights are the huge attention draws.

    ***

Saying everything, I'm not going to lie and say I want Floyd to win. I would like Hatton to put up a hugely competitive fight and win.

    1. I appreciate Ricky and I think he's a gentleman of the sport.
    2. I like the underdogs.

People, this is a boxing forum to discuss boxing.

Like I said before, a fighters skin colour has no relevance whatsoever to a true boxing fan.

If it does, that person has other issues which they need to deal with.

Some of those on youtube, given their anonymity, are among the most racist psychopaths I've ever encountered. The provocation can be as inane as it wants to be; there is nothing stopping them from venting at the slightest sign of black esteem.

Yeah I agree, there is also a certain amount of people who are getting ******s being able to say racists slurs in anonymity, because they've had their jaws cemented by society. Like they're taking a cigarette when their parents backs are turned.

That is indeed rather odd, because we can easily weigh the severity of the situation..

What is worse? Me asserting that whites proportionately haven't contributed much to the sport of boxing (as boxers) compared to their Latino and Black counter parts, or what kayjay calls me in my sig? Me thinks Moofo should think really hard about that and why it is that he's indifferent to white racism, but apparently despises seeming black racism..

              .
No disrespect at all to Kelly Pavlik because I like the kid alot. BUT, Kelly can walk into any ESPNZone in America and enjoy a quiet meal. No network - including HBO - is going out on a limb and signing him to a deal without an opt-out clause. No network is booking a PPV date before the opponent has even been set.

Kelly is still a very long way from stardom. And the road is actually a minefield.

Please remember: 20K seats sold isn't stardom. 400K PPv's is stardom.

And you forget the relevance of my initial success statement which was in reference to pro athletes..
There are many different sports where black people have not been dominant i.e Gymnastics , Swimming , Rugby etc etc etrc
And yes they are all professional Athletes.

And you also forget that black people only comprise 12% of the population here and are among the most impoverished, along with Latinos.
Exactly the reason why many Blacks & latinos turned to boxing as a way out.
                Forced through necessity.
                No prospects no job .....BOX.

No I haven't, since it is well established that the average median income for a white family in America is much higher than that of the average A.A. household, and typically those who generate more income has more access to resources.. This makes no sense..
The FACT is when a Black or Latino fighter has become established or shown to have potential they have been given the best equipment and trainers to further improve themselves.

This is hyperbole seeing as your reverse logic is absolutely absurd, as pointed out above, not to mention you haven't been able to pick any holes in anything that I've stated, therefore this is just rhetoric with no substance.
You have yet to prove that White people have had little Impact in the Sport of Boxing.
And you have ignored that for 50 years a large percentage of the white populace was forbidden to partake in professional boxing yet had many successes in the Amateur ranks against the very same Black boxers that went on to be professionals.
You also deny the fact that Amateur Boxing has any link or influence on Professional Boxing.

As I have already said....you are just an angry black kid looking for an argument.
Not every white person is a racist you know.

Where is your proof that White people have no influence in Boxing History?

I don't have to provide proof because the History books are there for you to research.
However these History books seem to not exist in your world.

                  I am outraged at that.
And I have shown that in previous posts.

                    Maxy,

This IS a boxing forum. You are right.

But a forum is comprised of people. With all their flaws, peccadilloes and blemishes.

When I see black people referred to as ******* and "******s" and ****, should I just ignore that and move on to talking about Juan Diaz' next fight?

Should I ignore when Mexicans are belittled in a racist manner and just try to focus on calzaghe-Kessler?
