    Pacquiao leaning towards Valero

I just read this on another site and thought you'd all like to read it.

    MANNY PACQUIAO WANTS VALERO NEXT!
    By Matt Goldstein

With rumors swirling that he will move to the lightweight division and possibly fight multiple title holder Juan Diaz, Manny Pacquiao now claims he wants to stay at superfeatherweight and fight the Venezuelan knockout artist, Edwin Valero. At 22-0 with all of his wins coming by way of knockout, the power punching Valero has been fighting overseas in Japan because he was previously denied a medical license to fight in the U.S.. Last year, the Pacquiao-Valero fight was being discussed as possibly taking place in Macau China at a new Steve Wynn casino hotel. Pacquiao has many lucrative options such as Edwin Valero, Juan Diaz, David Diaz, Jaun Manuel Marquez and even the winner of Joan Guzman-Humberto Soto; all of which would be acceptable fights for hard core boxing fans. Will Pacquiao fish his wish and fight biggest puncher anywhere near 130lbs? Source: Philboxing

He should be moving up and fighting David Diaz. If/when he beats Diaz, he'll then should look to fight Juan Diaz.

This is what really matters right now. Not him fighting Valero or even Juan Manuel. Step up your game Manny.

Out of all the possible guys he could fight, David Diaz is the only fighter I don't want Pacquiao to fight. It's not that he's too good for him, but he's the easier bout out there. That and I want Casamayor to fight Diaz anyway.

Somebody else posted on another topic how Manny could move up and win the WBC belt from David Diaz, then unify all the belts against Juan on Cinco de Mayo weekend. That would be great! But of cource Oscar already has a fight planned for that weekend so that date is probably out of the question.

If Manny stays at 130, it's gotta be to rematch JMM or fight the winner of Guzman-Soto. A fight with Valero would be interesting but not really the fight most want to see.

The way I see it now is that Pacquiao could fight David Diaz in late February and Juan Diaz could fight Michael Katsidis in early March. Assuming they both win, July or August would seem like a perfect date for them to meet.

That sounds good. They could fight on the same card. Pac SHOULD beat David Diaz taking into consideration the fight Morales put up against him, after being KOd by Pacquiao in his previous fight.

And I believe Juan now has two mandatory challengers...Katsidis for the WBO belt and Campbell for the IBF he just won. Campbell said his legal problems should be cleared up pretty soon, but you never know. Things could be much more serious than what he's leading on. So Katsidis would seem like the logical choice.

Don't forget Pacman began his career at Flyweight...so at this point...you guys should be a bit more generous than to say he "HAS" to move up AGAIN...

Wasn't he like 12 though when he was at flyweight??? Just kidding....seriously though, his body has grown and put on the weight well. A move to 135 sounds good since Freddy Roach admitted that there was a little difficulty in getting Pac down to 130.

I really don't see the logic in fighting a relatively unknown "knock out artist." Seems a bit risky and unrewarding, but whatever.
