I forget where I read it, but similar numbers were mentioned for the PPV buys for this fight. I think it was either on Max Boxing or Dan Rafael's blog.

In any case, those are pretty damn good numbers if you ask me. Pacquiao can certainly draw on PPV. And man oh man, if Juan Diaz can get a few more fights to make him a bigger name, then the eventual Diaz/Pacquiao match will draw big time numbers on PPV.

Dude, I have been to San Antonio many times. HEB was one of my biggest clients. I have a pic of myself hanging out at Republic of Texas on the Riverwalk on my ******* page.

In media terms, San Antonio is a small market. Dallas Metroplex, and Houston are FAR bigger markets even within the same state.

There is a reason why San Antonio only has one sports franchise.

        Summary:

        pac-em 1 365,000
        pac em 2 350,000
        pac em 3 340,000
        pac mab 2 350,000
LOL at you for saying Pacquiao is second or third below oscar in PPV sales

You also seem to forget that its not just pacquiao that fights that night, Mexicans outnumber the pinoys in PPV buys when a big fighter like barrera is fighting

Thats the issue. You've only been to San Antonio. Readers of the San Antonio Express span from Corpus Christy down to South Texas were I'm from. Boxing is a HUGE sport in Texas, especially south Texas. Since San Antonio seems to be the unofficial place for boxing in Texas, people read. Also, you have to remember that Pac/Barrera 1 was fought in San A so it would make sense for Arum to release that info to them.

Boxing is pretty damn popular over here in SA, we may not produce bad ass fighters but we still love boxing.
