My username is because he is my favorite fighter, but I'll never be blinded or think like he's unbeatable. I have lots of favorite fighters, but Manny is my top favorite. Nothing wrong with me seeing things how they are.
Yeah I know Barrera was on the bike the whole night, but Manny did land afew solid shots, and they weren't anything traumatizing or anything like that. But regardless, look back in the past and you'll see, he's beat a lot of his opponents by accumulation, Morales 2nd fight, Solis, Velasquez, first Barrera fight. Couldn't land enough to put away Marquez in the later rds.
did Barrera slug with him?? Juan will and manny can unload his vicious hands and Diaz has been down before and i believe that Manny can ko him if he catches Diaz clean with a few hard punches.
agree. i think manny's power has more pop, if those million punches that juan threw and found their mark were of manny's, i believe julio could have gone sooner. juan's arms are flabby i think thats the reason. manny throws starting from his big calves to his shoulder plus the power of his arms. juan's i think are all shoulders.
Manny gets torn up badly by Diaz. I don't see how Manny could keep up with that nonstop pace. Nor would he be able to setup or plant to land his left. Diaz would prolly stop Manny before 9 rds or so.
i don't see it being one sided. i think manny can hurt diaz and he def won't quit. i think diaz fights him close and somthers him w/ inside high pace work manny won't create distance and will get frustrated. he'll wing shots and will get hit with 4-6 when he misses.

Reason: missing word "hit"

dont you think manny would land more punches with juan's style? pressure against pressure but manny packs more pop but diaz throws more albeit "softer" punches. its really a toss-up.
manny is not as hittable as julio who was just a sitting duck most of the fight. pac's feet will spell the difference and he'll get his shots in too. julio wont be able to finish that 4-6 combo coz pac has sidestepped after being caught by one or two, unlike julio. this fight is 50-50, good fight.
wtf? Julio Diaz is a far better boxer than Pacquiao, and I would argue has much better defence.
but would Juan beat Pacquiao? very debatable. I think sometimes Juan still lets punches in a little too often, and those quick, powerful straight lefts change fights. Juan's defence has improved tremendously, but it lapses sometimes.
What would interest me a lot is how Pacquiao deals with real infighting. hes best at midrange, I would say...far away enough that he can generate his power, but close enough so that his punch will actually reach the target.
Personally, I think its a bit too hard a fight for Juan at the moment. but if he continues to improve at his rate...different story.
also, keep this in mind...he Manny gets hit with combinations when hes off balance after missing a shot, he retreats. watch his fights, he will do it. Juan throws combinations after missed or blocked punches, and he throws a LOT of punches, and very fast. and when Pacquiao's balance is off, his head tends to get snapped back a lot by punches, no matter how hard they are. not good signs.
But we'll just have to continue to see how they fight in the future. I think it would be a TREMENDOUS fight.
Juan Diaz is going to look like a power puncher if the fight pulls through. Diaz is too big and strong, and Pac will not be able to take Diaz's punches too good.
Manny is also really easy to hit.
I dont believe it's possible for anyone to exchange with pac and win at this stage... I know everyone is super impressed with diaz at the moment but if this fantasy fight does take place i think pac will ko him. he's just as fast, just as agressive and has proven power...
Right, like the crazy power he showed against Barrera in the rematch? Look, I know Manny has a nice string of KOs to his name, but it's not hard to see, Manny has to break you down to KO you. He was more of a 1 punch KO type of guy back in his lighter days of flyweight and 122. Not anymore. Let's think rationale.
You're comparing PAC's ko's in his early days at lighter weights, compared to the fighters he has faced in recent years. Buddy, the caliber of chins PAC has faced lately for the most part are A Grade chins. You simply cannot expect PAC to take out MAB, EM, and JMM with a single punch. Those guys are not exactly cab drivers, ya dig?
I mean, just read and listen to all the fighters that have gone down from PAC's fists. EM of all people would know how to judge power compared to any of us.
Rafael Marquez didn't take out Israel Vasquez with one single shot either!
