I just read a great piece on that fight by Ferdie Pacheco. From that book, I would say that the Raging Bull scene was fairly accurate. If so, then it was truly horrific.

All u have to do is watch the ACTUAL video, not a movie. It was NOTHING like the movie portrayed it

I figured that was where you were going with it. Since I haven't seen the fight itself, I relied on the book. I will check it out. Thanks.

I've brought this point up before. It wasn't nearly as bad as legend would have it. It was a very competetive fight through the first 10 rounds. Lamotta started to fade, Robinson came on in the final 3 rounds started to become qutie one sided. The last flurry in the 13th was pretty good but again I've alot worse.

Any way you slice it ICE, LaMotta took a beating in that fight.

So did Robinson. Only in the last 3 rounds it was one sided.

The movie was SOOOOO over the top, though. They had LaMotta literally caught up in the ropes and getting hit with dozens of BRUTAL punches, each one landing, right to the chin full fource. Literally, like Jake was frozen in place, not moving one inch right ior left, and getting SMASHED with huge punches. Jake was getting hit in real life with good punches but nothing like the movie. The only two real life instances I have ever seen even remotely close to the scene in Raging Bull were Cooney-Norton and Morrison-Mercer

Rahing Bull was a great movie, but you have to allow Scorcese some artistic license!
