Who is the NEXT big PPV star?

Over the past few years, only a few guys have proven that they are commercially successful fighters. Consistently.

    Oscar, of course.
    Vargas
    Trinidad
    Mayweather
    Pacquiao
and to a lesser extent, Hopkins, Barrera, etc.

Obviously, all those guys listed above are at the tail end of their careers.

WHO IS THE NEXT GENERATION THAT WILL CARRY THE BANNER OF BOXING?

Who are the next COMMERCIAL fighters? Who do you project to have PPV viability?

It's hard to say. Right now it's Cotto, but he could lose a few in a row soon so I wouldn't bank on him:

    Chad Dawson
    Kelly Pavlik, for the action
    Andy Lee or Andre Berto

Berto and Pavlik. I dont see Dawson as a big star. Cant explain why, I just dont see the fire in him. I view him this early in his career the same way I viewed Jermain Taylor.

I'd say Pavlik and depending on how the Hatton-Mayweather fight turns out, Hatton...

Cotto has had two ****ty PPV's so far. One was not his fault. One was COMPLETELY his fault. And watch as his Mosley fight does crappy numbers. We are three weeks out. Nobody is talking about it.

Miguel Cotto is a ****in' robot. A cyborg with zero personality. He will NEVER be a big PPV star. EVER.

I dunno about Pavlik. Is he good-looking enough? When's the last time a goofy-looking white guy was commercially successful?

Fans like guys who bring it. Mancini aint exactly the best looking guy in the world and he was a big star. He brought it. And he was from Youngstown to boot, which is why I made the comparison.

But even Mancini wasn't a star. He was a reasonably well-known guy. But DEFINITELY a notch or two below SRL, Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Pernell , etc from a commercial standpoint.

Has Mancini even fought in a mega-fight?
