They would have been so much better of placing it on the South Side of Chicago. It would have been a packed house.

Still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to head out for the fight or just catch it on HBO.
Head out to the fights, then hit the clubs. Im at my best after an entertaining fight.

I would have been there, but my parents couldn't have driven me since their gonna be in the city tommorrow for some dinner my dad's work is having.

Argh. I like this idea of Don King bringing fighters to chicago though. He should do that more often.

Which is why it's so ridiculous that Katsidis is insisting upon fighting one of those guys for a piece of leather, instead of fighting the bigger name for the RING belt.

I use to live in Chicago but never saw any fights there. Isn't this fight in the place that used to be called the Rosemont Horizon? Should have had it in the actual city.

Or, what I would have preferred, have it in Texas, which would make more sense. I would have gone to Houston or San Antonio for this, maybe even El Paso. And I'm sure the Mexican contingency would have come out here...

I'm trying to stay sober while I train. It's all or nothing this time. If my gf pays for my ticket (she always does) then I'll make the trip.

No, I originally thought it was at at All-State Arena. (New Rosemont Horizon)
They had some very good crowds for the Vargas/Javier, Valuez/Barrett, and Morales/Diaz's fights. I'm not sure why the didn't come back, maybe too large of a venue? But hispanics are more prevalent around the area.

diaz is a punching machine although devoid of power at LW, fans will see a lot of action everytime he fights? its for a unification fight, both guys have mexican lineage ... how can this fight be "not popular"???

i think juan is popular enough to fill an arena in his hometown ...

then they should have conducted the fight in houston or san antonio or las vegas, maybe this unification bout will sell there more than the present venue.
