The Heavyweight Division is as good as it's ever been

I ****ing love this post......especially the end.WLAD BLOWS, you’re assertion on the Eastern European hw’s dominating for the rest of existence is totally ‘off the mark’ and is the drivel of an uninformed bigot. I mean, how long have the Eastern Europeans dominated the division? 3, 4, 5 years at the longest; thats hardly enough historical performance to extrapolate the same results into the future….
Oh yeah, and…
and
On the thread topic I agree with a couple of small points you made but in general you're full of ****.Comment

Frankly, I could care less the nationality of today’s hw’s. Me and many other American boxing fans just want to see one unified dominant hw champion. And Wladimir Klitschko; I’m a huge fan of his and want only to see this guy succeed and reign as the ‘undisputed’ hw champion…You only think this way because there are no good Americans HW's, if you were Eastern European like me you would be excited and pumped about the HW division. The HW division is the glamour division of boxing and it is in good shape. It's too bad American HW's have gotten so weak.
However, to say that Eastern Europeans will dominate indefinitely forever, is ridiculous since they haven’t even dominated for longer than 5 years. I think that there’s a lull in the American hw talent these days, but who knows what fighters will come along in a few years….Comment

I think you're way too obvious in overhyping Wladimir Klitchko. This era of HW's(right after Lennox) is pathetic in every way. And the 80s were so bad? Atleast they had 2 REAL undisputed champions in Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson. 2 fighters that are top 10 HW ever material. Wlad is great but I doubt he'll have enough great wins to have a great legacy, as great as the last great HW in Lewis. There aren't enough other positive resume adding fighters around, and as you said it it's too "corrupt".Comment

I have to disagree with the thought of this being as good as any era for the heavyweights.Wlad is a class act and should of held his own in any generation.Besides that, you have had fighters who are well past their best becoming world champs like Briggs and Maskaev not to mention Nikolay Valuev who is a side show that should never have been a champ.
My fav Heavyweight era was in the mid 90's with Lewis-Holyfield-Bowe-Tyson.What would those guys have done to this division at this current time.
Another case could be said more so for the 70's with Ali-Foreman-Frazier-Norton. But that was before my time and i only saw those fights years after.Comment
