The Heavyweight Division is as good as it's ever been

Being an Eastern European, I am sickened by Americans saying that the HW division is weak and garbage, you morons are only saying this because your American HW's are weak and soft.

The HW division is definately better than the 80's when the OVERRATED Tyson was roaming the division and KOing everybody.

Ali and Foreman weren't REAL world champions back in the day because Eastern Europeans weren't allowed to turn Professional because of the Cold War, if they were than it would have been a whole different story. For example, in baseball Babe Ruth was never really the best player of his era because it was a White only league, there could have been someone better than him in the Negro league, but we will never know.

Americans are just gonna have to get used to the fact that Eastern European HW's are gonna DOMINATE for the rest of existence.

That's pretty weak to be honest. The same can be said about Wlad today, because Cubans aren't allowed to turn pro, and they dominate the amateurs.

      I agree about the 80's.

For real though, can you really say today is the best it has ever been, considering Shannon Briggs was a champion recently?

Boxing is a corrupt joke with all the mandatory fights and never allowing unification fights. Briggs should have never been a champion.

Everyone knows that Wlad is the best HW, but the corrupt boxing system won't allow him to Unify.

the Heavyweight division is weak the last really entertaining fight I saw in the heavyweight division was Brewster vs Liokavich and that has been about a year and a half ago. the Heavyweights don't really contribute to the image of boxing as an exciting sport... I'm sorry but it doesn't.

WLAD BLOWS, you’re assertion on the Eastern European hw’s dominating for the rest of existence is totally ‘off the mark’ and is the drivel of an uninformed bigot. I mean, how long have the Eastern Europeans dominated the division? 3, 4, 5 years at the longest; thats hardly enough historical performance to extrapolate the same results into the future….

              Oh yeah, and… and

I've gotten to a point in my life where I often forget a heavyweight division exists. If the heavyweight division was eliminated from boxing I would not care. Nowadays it's the divisions below heavyweight that bring all of the excitement to the sport of boxing.

You only think this way because there are no good Americans HW's, if you were Eastern European like me you would be excited and pumped about the HW division. The HW division is the glamour division of boxing and it is in good shape. It's too bad American HW's have gotten so weak.
