According a report on the Philboxing website, the rematch between WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (33-1, 30KOs) and WBO bantamweight champ Gerry Penalosa (52-6-2, 35KOs) may happen sooner than most expect. The rematch was rumored to be happending in February of next year, but it now appears the fight may fall on the undercard to the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Ricky Hatton HBO pay-per-view, taking place on December 8 in Las Vegas. de leon will ****ing tear up penalosa. what the ****. de leon is the next big thing. he will be the filipino slayer. pacquiao is the mexican slayer but i believe that de leon will tear any filipino who will challenge him in his division. de leon is the ****. -
in their first fight and there was no way or form that penalosa was in danger of being hurt or koed, it was a good competitive/entertaining fight ...
well see how much de leon improve from the first fight, he has more pluses on this rematch, de leon could level up pretty good while gerry can only get older...
but to really dominate penalosa, ponce has to level up quite a bit and i dont think daniel can upgrade his skill to "johnny gonzales" level, so most probably the fight will be a repeat of the first... unless the old veteran has more tricks under his sleeves...Comment

It's hard to say if Daniel has improved much since the first Penalosa fight because the Bautista bout was so short. But in interviews he certainly seems to have his head on a bit straighter than he did back then. He seemed to have a chip on his shoulders back then and seems to have lost it since.
Penalosa's no pushover, so a decisive win over him this time should put Daniel on the right track. I just don't think Gerry has much more in the tank at this point in time.Comment

"One Punch KO"
You wanna bet , that Ponce de Leon Cannot KO Gerry Penalosa??? He may NEVER Scored a Knockdown in any round!!!
If DPdL can Land a Solid CLEAN Shot on Penalosa's Face, he may Score a Knockdown... But my question is Will he Land his Punch??? I doubt~~~
I'm sure DPdL will EAT many Leathers!!!
I think De Leon may RUN again, just like he did the first fight, just like Jhonny Gonzales did~~~ and everyone else...Comment

**** happens sometimes. I also didn't think Paul Williams did that great against Antonio Margarito because margarito blcoked a lot of what he threw. (And believe me, I hate Margarito)
Point is, sometimes volume punching will win you the fight alone. It's hard to look good against a guy who's throwing twice as much as you.Comment
