UFC Has Smarter Fans & Media Then Boxing?

    PART 1
It pains me so much to say that but its the downright truth. What happened to us? What happened to the days of us appreciating guys like Ali? Now its like all boxing fans & media want is blood & guts. They have no appreciation for the sweet science anymore. Any guy who is a boxer now will constantly get ripped and not given his just due. If you box at all you are instantly called a scared runner with no guts. Why does everyone have to fight like Pavlik? You guys want everyone to be the exact same? What kind of fun would that be? I love big brutal punchers who walk you down and punish you but I also equally love a boxer who can beat someone much bigger & stronger then him due to the fact that he has mastered the sweet science.

Its upsetting to me because its getting worse & worse. Merchant will always rip a boxer now. The media & fans seem to hate guys like that. Not only do they root for that guy to lose but most of the times they root for him to get brutally KO. They also will never rate a boxer over a power guy unless they have to, like Floyd. Floyd is only #1 because he started off at like 11 and everyone lost in front of him. They still even try to drop him down now. The only problem is that they know he still can beat alot of the guys they do like. They also get unfairly judged during fights because people tend to give the opponent the rounds since they think the other guy is a punk and a runner.

Meanwhile you go to the UFC and they treat every guy equally. They love Liddell for knocking guys out. The love guys who are just super strong and kill people but guess what? They also equally love the guys who are weaker and strictly go for submissions. All there announcers drool over a guy trying to go to the ground and submit someone even if there is completely no action. Gracie use to win all the UFC tourney's when there wasnt even a weight limit. Guys would be way bigger then him. He was the most boring guy in the world and all of there fans and announcers loved him. He never tried to mix it up. All he would do is try to finesse and then submit you. Remember when Floyd got into it with the UFC boss? However, what did the UFC boss say about Floyd? He said that he thought Floyd was one of the best fighters he's ever seen. Floyd gets more respect from there boss then he does in boxing.

Im not just talking about Floyd either. Im talking about guys like Spinks, Malignaggi, Collazo, and so on. I love watching a pure boxer yet everyone will try to make you believe that a guy sucks if he doesnt knock you out. Then you look at a guy like Floyd who actually did have a high KO ratio when he was fighting guys his own size. Then he moves up a bunch of times without even gaining hardly any weight but he still gets ripped for not knocking out guys even when there "alot" bigger then him but they praise guys like Margarito, Cintron, Pac, Cotto, and other guys who are knocking out guys but there always the bigger man in 99% of there fights. In 70% or more of them there the much much bigger guy. Im not hating though because I love that too. I love seeing those guys punish people and walk right through guys but my point is why cant you like both types of fighters? It makes no sense to me. Why do you have to hate on the other guys? I could see if you like the other guys better but people just downright hate the way boxers fight nowdays.

    PART 2

Its e****ally sad to me when the media has even joined in on this like they have no knowledge of the history of the sport. The UFC would never rip one of there fighters who are the opposite or brawlers but Merchant acts like if you dont brawl then you are garbage and shouldnt be allowed in the ring. How can someone representing the sport on a high level say things like that? He hurts the sport when he does that. Dont get me wrong, there are some exceptions. Sometimes guys definatly are scared or definatly do run and they should be ripped for that but that is not the case the majority of the time. Most of these guys are just pure boxers who move but dont run. Floyd gets called a runner but the reality is that he's the most calm guy in the sport. He casually moves around the ring at a slow pace most of the fight. Much slower then mostly anyone but yet they call him a runner? You never see him fight at a fast pace like he did when he was younger. He always moves at a calm pace but its made out to sound like he runs full speed from ring post to ring post all fight long. Spinks & Paulie are great pure boxers. I thought Spinks did run some against Taylor but thats not a huge deal to me since we all know that Spinks didnt belong at MW.

I just honestly believe that alot of guys are doing a disservice to the sport and alot of good quality boxers just because they dont fight like Pavlik or something and its not fair at all. What if he doesnt have Pavlik's power? What if he doesnt have his build? Most of these boxers are actually really small compared to guys in the real world so alot of them learn how to beat a bigger man and you dont do that by just running straight at him trying to knock him out because you will get KO your ownself. So you learn other ways to win, you learn the sweet science and they shouldnt be getting ripped for that. The #1 thing you guys have to remember is that the "sport" is called "boxing". Its a sport and its not fighting. There's rules, rounds, and everything else to make it exciting and a equal playing field. Its not about just putting to guys in a phone booth and making them fight to the death. Then only the big guys would be allowed to fight. Smaller, weaker guys would have no chance but thankfully its a sport where you have other ways to win and that makes it alot more exciting to me

You and other ****** ****s get confused though and failed to realise that its not because the person is a boxer its because they are boring that they get hated on.. Hatton doesn'y box he brawls and people hate him.. you idiots just fail to realise that your favorite fighters aren't being dissed because they box but because they put on a crappy show.

He always picks one fight from a guy but then he'll rip them in every other fight

people don't like boxers who do the bare minimum to win a round or a fight, if the boxer stays active and throws a lot during a fight most people wont have anything bad to say about him.. look @ Mosley, Forrest, Malignaggi etc.
