There is no american pride in boxing. Too many damn americans. There is state pride. You represent New york if you a yorker and so on.

This is the entertainment capital. People want excitement and people want hype. If you promote an event right like May5th delahoya/mayweather you sell over 2 mill ppv buys.

Truth is over here, Calzaghe is just another Darius Michaelchewzki or whatever the **** his name is. While Roy Jones was running **** at light-heavy Darius was defending his WBO belt quietly over in germany.

Same goes for Calzaghe. Truth is Calzaghe could get more money fighting in america BUT is promoter Frank Warren doesn't want that because he gets the most money keeping calzaghe on home turf.

That's why Ricky Hatton got rid of Warren, so he can make more money expending his popularity into the States.

So what you are saying is Roy Jones will just be a man in the history books.

Joe Calzaghe will be loved by his people no matter what the history books say.

So you cant get 10,000 Floridians over for Lacy? Do they not have passports? Its really lame when you cant get 10,000 from a possible 300 million.

JEff Lacy is not that big. There are more famous people in florida then Lacy, trust me. We are the entertainment capital of the world. Movie stars, Rap stars, Nba basketball stars, you name it.

Then you got a lil country like the fillipines and all they have is Manny Pacquiao??? According to them he is their national treasure.
So he might be God to them over there but over here he is just a lil exciting fighter and if promoted right americans will love him until he losses and the next little guy comes along. Same thing goes for Calzaghe.

England has one or 2 undefeated world champions and they're on their nuts like soccer hooligans. Ricky sold out arenas over there fighting bums. Calzaghe sold an entire arena fighting a reality tv star in Manfredo.

That **** doesn't fly around here. Which is why Calzaghe won't come over here, not because he is scared BUT because his promoter won't let him.

His promoter rather sell out at the same place over and over playing it safe and watch his pockets fill up then let Calzaghe try to expend his status as a world champion. Calzaghe is just a local champion to us. New York alone is bigger then England.

Exactly. In america you have to try a lil harder to be popular then in England.

Joe Calzaghe has the luxary of having a automatic fanbase because he is one of them. A mexican figher has the same luxary. It's national pride.

Bernard Hopkins is a legend. It doesn't matter how much he sells. He is no Mike tyson or Ali in terms of popularity but he will go down as one of the Greatest middleweights of all time. And he has made more money then Calzaghe despite of Joe selling out an entire stadium.

the us isn`t the mecca of boxing, nor is it the entertainment capital of the world.

It depends on what you call entertainment. Cheap tacky crap like las vegas, sure you have it in bucketloads. That ain`t something to shout about.

This isn`t the 1970's anymore. All your boxers are boring. I`ve never met or spoken to anyone who got excited watching hopkins and mayweather. thats why in the US boxing is dying on its ass.

calzaghe doesn`t have to go to america, who gives a **** what americans think about boxing anyway.

Bernard or Jeff arnt seen as americans in America? Joe is Welsh, he still has English fans, he still sells out English arena's.

I think you are trying to find an excuse for being so fickle. NBa gets like 20,000 fans a game, thats it!
