I'm not bitter. I'm not a huge fan of either fighter actually. You can look up some of my previous posts and find that out.

I'm just syaing, the p4p #1 guy going against the p4p #2 guy? As close as they are in terms of weight, height, popularity and standing? I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't happen and it would be great for boxing.

Mayweather was considering fighting Pacquiao back in 2006.

Today out in print, Edwin Rollon of manilastandardtoday.com reports that Games and Amusements Board chairman Eric Buhain confirms that Mayweather Jr. is considering fighting Manny Pacquiao.

Buhain is quoted in Manila Standard Today.com in regards to Mayweather vs Pacquiao: “It’s going to be a blockbuster. Our friends in the world boxing council tipped this to us, and if plans push through, this would be the biggest break for Manny.”

Buhain added: “Manny’s ideal weight is 130 lb, but he can fight at 135 and Mayweather is willing to trim down from 140 to 135 just to fight Pacquaio.”

So not fighting Mayweather at this point makes Pacquiao a coward according to the threadstarter.

If pound-for-pound is an overrated term, then "afraid of Mayweather" is ridiculous.

No way in hell are they going to fight right now based on weight alone. As you said, the difference in sizes has been pretty consistent. And so is their moving up a division.

Zab Judah and Oscar Delahoya have always been a couple of divisions higher than Floyd.

Pacquiao-Mayweather is a fair fight, with the two combatants pretty evenly matched in size.
