why are you such a negative person? do you care so much how other people look at you. with your mentality i'd be rocking the american flag just to piss off them other americans.
there's hundreds of thousands of people who aren't gonna stand you does that mean your just gonna fall back.

Thats not what he was really getting at. Basically he is saying fighters like Hatton and a lot of Mexican fighters have so many fans because of the fans national pride. That is not to say Hatton and those other Mexican fighters aren't good but their nationality plays a lot into their fan base. As for American fighters we don't back our fighters based off of national pride. We back our fighter because we like them period. It doesn't matter if a American fighter is fighting a Mexican fighter. Plenty of American boxing fans will root for the Mexican fighter because that is who they like while majority of the Mexican fans will root for the Mexican fighter just because he is from Mexico. Just like I heard for many years that plenty of Mexicans thought of Oscar De la Hoya as a sell out and not a real Mexican. But when he fought PBF I bet you alot of those people rooted for De la Hoya just because he was Mexican.

the part about rooting for de la hoya because he was mexican was VERY true, at my job mexicans who i know for a fact swore off de la hoya when he fought mayorga, were all smiles for him when he fought mayweather.

i think the only people who like mayweather and say he is entertaining are bandwagon fans who only give him there support because many have him high on the p4p. i bet these are the same people who were fans of roy jones when he was #1 p4p. im sure mayweather would have no fans like spinks if he was not in the p4p because he is very boring fighter to watch and it is rare to see him accept a real challenge against the best.
I hated roy, still do floyd is ma fav fighter cos he is skilled as **** and mostly not mexican ( i dnt really care that he isnt mexican jst wanted to annoy the theard starter)

Sure he would have fans. As long as he still walks in with 50 cent and talks about how many bitches he has and how much bling bling he has, all the other gangsta wannabe will still love him.

Roy Jones got ktfo, and he is still my favorite fighter to ever exist. It has nothing to do with these labels, p4p and all that. It has to do with his fighting style and his ability to adapt to every fighter and out think them in the ring, that makes me a fan and one that wouldn't flop if he lost.
