Was Willie Pep a COWARD?

I don't know if a guy who survied a plane crash then soon got right back to fighting can remotely be considered a coward.

I don't know that a fighter who faced one of the best all-time, and possibly one of the dirtiest fighters of the era, five times (Sandy Saddler) can be called a coward.

I don't know that a figher who went up the ring 241 times to face opponents who were bent on punching his head off can be called a coward.

Many consider Pep the best all-time, many more think he's top 5 all time, and a vast majority put him in their all-time top 20 list. I don't know that a coward can get that high.

Pep was not a coward, he went toe to toe with one of the p4p hardest punchers of all time Sandy Sandler.

he probebly isnt actually trying to suggest Pep is a coward, its just that people that tend to hit and run away and keep out of exchanges are called cowards today. like look at what just happened with Barrera recently, he boxed and did fairly well, but because he generally stayed out of big exchanges people called him a 'coward'.

I havent seen much of Willie Pep at all, other than his fights with Sandy. and supposedly, Pep completely forgot about his boxing and made it a fouling and brawlish type fight because it wouldnt work with Sandy.
but the general opinion of writers was that he simply did not want to get hit at all, and only worried about scoring just enough points to win the round, and nothing more.

The guys saying fighters any fighters that step into the ring are cowards need to get there head out off their ass and lace on some gloves and have a go I guarantee you that if you get to 6 rounders and up you will change you mind about the coward bull**** , most of the knockers are armchair experts that will never achieve anything themselves but they know everything about everything .
