When Don King set up Bruce Seldon to win a vacant belt so that he would have a title to lose to Mike Tyson, EVERYONE including myself called it bull****. Real fans recognized what was happening So did the pundits. Its was blatantly obvious.

A promoter often sets his own guys up with vacant title shots to make a match more interesting because if the fighter wins the vacant title, it makes it seem as though more is on the table and more is at stake.

Pacquiao does NOT get a pass.

Bob Arum setting Miguel Cotto up for a vacant title shot against Michael Jennings was the SAME EXACT DEAL. Jennings was never heard of before and never really heard from after. It was basically a belt exchange.

A lot of you cat-eating ignorant peasants think that this is directed only at Pacquiao. It isn't. I was BHOP's most ardent critic because he spent literally YEARS defending a belt that Roy Jones had vacated to fight the then P4P#1 James Toney. BHOP won it and defended only that one title to tie Monzon's record, which is bull**** because Monzon was the undisputed champion at MW. Hopkins was definitely not.

Arum has on several occasions targeted vacant title fights for Pacquiao. He's also set it up where Pacquiao faced an interim champion in Diaz, and he arranged for Cotto, who had just been destroyed by Margarito, to immediately compete for the vacant WBO title against of all people a man none of you have ever heard of ... coincidentally prior to a Pacquiao showdown which had already been made.

Just because a fighter wins a vacant belt doesn't legitimize it. He isn't a champion because he didn't beat a champion to get the title. So the man who beats him isn't a champion either because there haven't been any champions in that sequence. That is the difference between titlist and a champion. Champions beat other champions for the distinction. Titlists simply take what they can get where they can, and how they can.

Guess what? The guys That Pac fought at 126- 130 were also re-hydrating close to Pac's fight night weight. That basically cancels out the argument that Pac had taken advantage of smaller guys.

I've watched as peasants here have used racial slurs, innuendos, and pictures while the majority of you so-called "serious posters" sit by and do nothing.

I've had some great discussions with people that some of you label as "terrible posters", and some awful discussions with people that some of you label as "excellent posters".

There are no rewards for posting here. If you love boxing the reward is having a place to discuss what you love. Lead Uppercut made it very clear to me early on that cohesive and rational debate would only go so far on this site. I didn't want to believe him at first, but now I'm inclined to agree.

I come here to write. This isn't the only place I write, but I get lost of practice here expressing different opinions in different styles. 99% of the posters I've come across here are simply emoticon morons .. who use sarcasm in place of solid arguments that would make this site a more interesting place to discuss boxing ... if that's actually what some of you come here to do. Hate it or love peasants ... but like I've said so many times before, the historians won't be as kind to Pacquiao as today's writers because they won't be as swayed by hype.
