Larry Merchant is the worse Broadcaster covering boxing today!!

1. Most of the time, during the fights, he is silent, and only
pipes up when he thinks he has some amazing insight to offer.
The insight is usually lame.

2. He is the only sports broadcaster I can recall, that has
ever bad mouthed his sport repeatedly, and bad mouthed the
event which he was viewing at that time!

3. He talks too damn slow!

4. He is a rude, crabby old man who's far too cynical
to have ever been allowed to broadcast for so long!

5. He is as racist as Jim Grey; shown by the way he has talked
to and treated Cory Spinks, Bernard Hopkins and Mike Tyson.

6. He thinks he knows it all, and since he doesn't, that makes him
all the more irritating.

7. He often forgets fighters names, and throws in weird and
inappropriate stories about some mess that happened 50 years
ago.

8. And the final thing that makes him so horrible is his
longevity. If I was ever that rude, negative and surly at work,
I would have been canned long ago. The fact that he kept
his job after being so blatantly rude to someone as powerful
as Frank Warren is annoying beyond belief. Let that have been
an African American doing that to Frank, and he would have been
canned faster than you can say "cheese whiz"! But oh no, not Larry,
he got to keep his job!

Merchant is the best. He has insight and wisdom and courage to speak the obvious.

Your opinions of him doesn't matter.

He has more knowledge than you could ever gain in a lifetime.

Merchant is the BEST!!!! He makes the fights more entertaining to watch. Whenever the fights start and I see Max is working im always let down. Max sucks big time, while Larry is the best EVER!!! If you dont like Larry you have issues. The man knows more then anybody else, has been covering the sport for longer then most of us have been alive, and he really loves boxing. Boxing will lose out in a huge way the day Larry hangs it up. We all will.
