I agree but he was prepared to go to war with Oleg Maskaev not this no named can. Sam Peter obviously under estimated him like he did with Toney in their first fight. When he is on he knocks Wladimir Klitschko and James Toney on their ass.

come on yall, give him some credit. McCline may be a journeyman, but lets give him his due...stylistically, any boxer can handle McCline. but remember that McCline was beating Valuev before his injury, and he DOES punch very hard. hes a big, strong guy! the punches that he landed on Sam Peter would have knocked out a good majority of heavyweights.

problem? McCline should NOT have been able to hit Peter with those punches. give Sammy some credit, he did go on to win basically every round after the ones he got knocked down in, which is an accomplishment considering what he had been through.

Sam needs HUGE work on his defence however. apparently his jaw aint as invincible as everyone thought, even though he still has a hard noggin. at least keep your hands up Sam...I think an old school turtle shell defence would work well for him, hes slow and lumbering anyway.

hate to break it to you,,,but mccline is not a big puncher by any means. he's never stopped a top fighter in his life. that said,,,I dont think peter has a bad chin,,,but its obviously not made of steel as a lot of us thought

First let me say, that Mccline's not a journeyman; he's a fringe contender and looked very impressive in the first three rounds of that fight. But, I do agree with most posters that once Peter got his feet and started winning rounds, there's no reason why he couldn't have scored the KO. I think it comes down to stamina; his jab, bodywork, and overhand rights all looked good but he just wasn't busy enough to close the deal....

Overall, I'd grade Peter's performance a B or B-....
