Patriotism and Racism are two different things. The brits thinking Ricky will pound Floyd is more patriotism than racism. They are just backing their own. However, in some cases this is the case when it's ignorant to choose a fighter just based on their skin color.

A lot of people do for sure. Especially on these forums. Its most evident to me with hatton fans. I'm white and I'm a redneck. So I should be going for the white guy right? Wrong. I'm going for Floyd, I dont really care for him as a person but I like him as a fighter and think there is no way Hatton has a chance. You can tell though that a lot of people only pick fighters of their own race. Like if someone has their top ten fighters in their sig and all 10 of them are white, and they are white.... coincidence? I think not.

I'm Filipino yet I picked Darch on the Donaire brothers. No, I dont favor a fighter just because he's my countryman. There are lots of warriors out there regardless of race.

I'm hispanic and I must ask who do you think you are? You don't rule over hispanics,mexicans or any other group of people. You have no right to tell

Nonsense. Hatton's fans tend to be British and British people tend to be white (Britain is 90% white so what do you expect?). I've said this many times but the last time a boxer was as popular as Hatton in Britain it was Frank Bruno. I won't pick a white guy over a black guy because of skin colour, nor would most boxing fans.
