Personally, I'd rather that Pacquiao stays at 130 long enough to take on JMM, Valero, Guzman and some guy coming up from Featherweight who in time proves worthy to make the challenge. This is just so that no one can later claim having been ducked by Pacquiao.
As for his weight issues, I think it was in large part brought about by his prolonged stay outside the competitive ring which, in turn, was caused by the Golden Boy-Top Rank contractual dispute. If Pacquiao fights three or four times next year, I suspect he'd be better able to handle the job of getting to 130 for each of the appearances.
An added benefit to having a busy scheduled may be that Pacquiao shall have less time for those "extra-curricular activities" that have done him nothing good.

It doesn't matter who he fights next.. Whoever Pacquiao will fight, Mexicans will always have an excuse who can't accept defeat and has a pride... If Pac defeats Marquez, it's still the same and then call Soto..Comment

I share your wish Air... The way things stand, he may be THE MAN at Jr. Light, but he does not wear a world belt. He only has the "International" strap. I'd personally wish he could tarry some and win a 130-lbs. crown before moving up. So, I hope they find some way for him to stay at 130.
I'm kinda hoping, too, that they'll find that Pacquiao's weight issues were derived from his having been out of the ring longer than usual-- what with the GBP-Arum problem still going through legal processes. I was thinking that if he is made more active-- say, 3 or 4 fights in 08-- he'll be able to trim down to fighting weight a lot better, and a bit easier, as he won't have time to gain too much poundage between fights, and thus, not much to shed in training.
But you're right, health is top priority.
Anyway, the idea of fighting at lightweight will allow him a shot at going down in history as the first Asian World Jr. Featherweight champ to ever win a world Lightweight crown. Jeff Fenech tried, but his bid was foiled by Philipp Holiday--by TKO-- in a fight for the IBF Lightweight crown.
Pacquiao shall also have the chance to gain the distinction of being the first Flyweight title holder to successfully move up to Lightweight and win a world title at the latter weight class.

Pac already said in an interview that he doesn't give a damn on those belts. Fights are important rather than the belts.. Sanction Fees are such a waste! He already jumped 6 divisions and be a 6 division champ but he don't give a damn on those trash belts anyway.Comment

He brought his international belt to the fight as he has done in the past, which, to me indicates that he has respect for the belt. He fought for and earned it, after all.
And, I presume, he is paying sanctioning fees, in defense of his "international" title when he went up against Barrera.
I haven't learned Pacquiao actually saying he does not care about belts. It shall be out of his character to denegrate anything, much less, a sanctioning body-- which is not to say that sanctioning bodies deserve respect.
The fella is just that: he does not put down people or organizations.
If he said anything of the sort that you say he did, then I am wrong about Pacquiao's character, and would appreciate being proven so by your providing a link to that interview.
