Not telling you as an excuse...just saying it is what it is. A lot of fighters have the true luxury of going totraining camp, etc etc....but Clay-Bey and Jose are two examples of guys who have had to work full time (Clay works third shift and was doing so when I trained him) and then go train afterwards. Run in the morning before work, etc etc. THAT is a tough, tough life, especially at that level, u know?
Damn, that is tough. I have no doubt that Jose would have been a better fighter if he only had to train, and that goes for Clay too. But i know they have family to support.

I used to have a boxing trainer (still talk to him to this day, great person) who used to say that to truly advance in boxing "a boxer can't have a job and box. Boxing is his job." But i understand Rivera had a family.

Tell Rivera i said hi, and i wish him the best in life. He should be proud to go as far as he did in boxing, the guy is a two division Champion can't nobody take that away from him.
