He was the IBF and IBO Champion, and is a draw in the States because of his punching power, durability and tenacity. He took more punishment from Calzaghe than most of his opponents have without being knocked out. Calzaghe showed he's on another level obviously.........that's why there's no dis*****g that right now he's the best fighter at 168 and one of the top P4P fighters in the sport.

LOL I don't understand how losing a single major fight against an ATG U.K. fighter and Potential HOF candidate makes you a bum.
His loss against a great fighter like Calzaghe isn't a bad thing, but that doesn't change the fact that Lacy is a bum. A bum to me is someone with poor boxing skills and has hype built around him making him into something he is not. Lacy was just this. His power was always overrated, his boxing skills non-existent, and his durability as you claim is not so lauded because if Calzaghe was a bigger puncher, he would've tucked Lacy away to bed. Lacy is hyped man, Vitali Tsypko was robbed against him and I think his 'shoulder injury' was blown out of proportion to hide the fact of how bad he looked against Tsypko.

Calzaghe is great, but he's not the second coming of Robinson and he made Lacy look BAD. Lacy is a second tier fighter at best and good for some excitement, but belongs nowhere near the best at 168 (Kessler, Calzaghe).

That's a distorted definition of a "Bum". A bum is a washed up cabdriver with no business being in the ring. Lacy was knocking everyone out until he faced the undisputed champ. How does one loss make someone a bum? That word is seriously over used..

Agreed, Lacy is not a bum. People hyped him up to be the next big star. He got stopped by Calzaghe, the most dominating super-middle in a long time. He is still at least top 5 ranked currently in his division IMO. He didn't look that good against his last opponent because he suffered an injury.

See, you guys are STILL buying into his hype. Who exactly did this guy knock out when you say he was knocking 'everyone' out? His bet wins are GROSSLY overrated rated now in retrospect and his best ones are probably Syd Vanderpool, Omar Sheika (Tony Booth beat him lol) and Scott freaking Pemberton. He never beat any great fighters, just washed-up guys that were fed to him and he is thus a hyped bum until he can prove otherwise, sorry but the truth is the truth.

Ya think Lacy is gonna KO Manfredo so easy? Ya need to wake the **** up.

Just because Manfredo lost a lousy stoppage towards Calzaghe?

I'm telling you, it's some left-over hype residue of Lacy's that has these ideas swarming. People still don't realize what kind of hype job Lacy was even after that humiliating loss he suffered at the hands of Calzaghe.

I hate hype like the next guy does and I don't easily buy into it. Hell, I'm a big Pavlik fan and I still think he has a lot of hype around him that he needs to get rid of. But he is almost at the point of totally surmounting his hype with another couple of quality wins whereas Jeff Lacy was devoured by his hype.

Jeff Lacy ain't knocking out ****. Especially now when anyone can watch a tape of him and see how easy it is to beat him with some rudimentary boxing movement. Manfredo's handler's are not ******, they know this is a winnable fight for him even though his best weight should be 160.

The Contender Fraud Manfredo will be exposed and "The Latin Fake" will also be exposed by Ouma when they finally get it on.
                    I hope your right.

Lacy does bring a lot of pressure, and is not "easy" to beat. He was easy for Joe to beat...but everyone is not Joe Calzaghe.

Lacy was a champ and a top 3 guy at 168. He does not qualify as a 'bum'. Period. Learn proper use of this word.
