I feel that Mcgirt is underrated most of the time, but I do feel Steward is overrated.

would he be your first choice as a trainer if you were boxing?

Everytime I see a fighter being escorted to the ring by Buddy McGirt I know it's over. I've never seen a big fight where his fighter wins and I say this all the time to my friends as soon as I see him on TV.

well it not only in the ring you could judge a trainer but it is outside the ring during training.

I dont think either one of them is overrated because some trainer is more suited for some fighter visa versa

Steward is spot on 90% of the time. He can't make his fighters listen to his instructions; nor can he actually make them adapt to something mid round.

Mcgirt has a long list of **** ups in my eyes. "Gotta' keep workin that jab baby." I think he's uttered that phrase more times than the word 'pwn' has been typed on Boxingscene.

the main weapon in boxing is the jab if someone doesnt jab is no good.

jab scores, easy to do, set up other punchs, create spacing, make the oppenet of balance, distrub oppenet rhythem...etc

This poll is an insult to Manny Steward, he is IMO the best trainer in boxing. It's not his fault Taylor is a moron.

Buddy McGirt should easily take this poll, his only current success is Malignaggi. Mcgirt ****ed over Tarver,Adamek, and Brewster.

That doesn't matter much though because there are different styles and sizes of fighters. Some trainers are better suited for different things, such as Steward seems to be with rangy fighters.

Thanks for clarifying how a jab is useful. All this time I thought it was portuguese for masterbation... Boxing makes so much more sense now.

It's not that working the jab is a bad idea... the problem is it's his only ****ing advice, and he'll even go so far as to still insist upon working the damn jab at bad times; or telling his pugilist to box.

This thread sucks as it should just be about how bad Mcgirt is. Steward is a proven great.
