Julian Jackson's punching power: Underrated?
Collapse

Did i see/hear correct in the vid - Kevin Rooney?.Alexis Arguello is a great puncher, but to have him that far ahead of quite a few of those guys raises this eyebrow. Arguello is like Magnum PI to me.. But I don't think that's what I remember coming away after watching his entire career multiple times.
Alexis could crack - but this is a guy that did his dirty work generally, but not always, late.. Late late.
Arguello had power in the 13th, 14th, and 15th rounds.. I'm not confused about how impressive that is.. But against these names? I don't know..
This list must have something more to do with absolute peak/prime weightclass and all that kind of stuff.. KO% ect. And obviously, a Peter North money shot fired directly into the mouth of an overly nostalgic dinosaur.
As in the trainer?Comment

Benn
dont get me wrong i like Nigel Benn but people talk about his power and while he could punch he should be no whre near the list ,early in his career he was seen as a huge puncher but only because he was fighting guys who my GRANNY could knock out you only had to look at these guys to know what bums they were ,ie
Benn could not KO Malinga who Roy Jones jr Sparked in chilling fashion ,never did Benn get 1 punch KO 'S over top quality opostition you could argue Barkley but i personally would'nt after all it was premature stoppage and Barkley is not what i would call top quality oposition even if he did KO an old Thomas Hearns ,Barkley OveratedComment

Thanks to dualchamps for the list.
I can't believe he is 25th on the list. He only had 1 title fight that didn't end in a KO victory for him, against Thomas Tate.
I am also downright shocked that he never got knockout of the year at any time.
His KO of Terry Norris was incredible. He threw that punch hard, and FAST. It even looked faster than a regular punch in slow-motion.
Does someone know something I don't about this?
I like the guy thats number one on this list. I dont care how many ppl hate on him and say he's overrated. That dude deserves the number one spot.Comment

Pavlik
Pavlik number 1 ,LOL
Jackson is a miles harder hitter than Pavlik and ill bet when Pavlik retires his record will not come close to Jackson's ko ratioComment

So listen... Kelly Pavlik is not number 1. Someone changed it in their quote of my post.
It was Joe Louis.
And no, I don't care that Pavlik knocked Taylor out. I wanted Taylor to win that fight, but I am in no way a Taylor groupie, at all.Comment
