    How good is Kessler ?

Never seen him fight , never even heard of him til this fight with calazaghe (which im not really impressed with) ...So , does anyone have a fight of kessler ? or can vouch for him that he is even that good ? who has he beat? I have never heard of Kessler til this fight.

Kessler has been WBA-champ since 2004 (+ WBC champ for a year now). He's been ranked 2nd in SMW by the ring since 2004 (ahead of Lacy, who was never ranked better than no.3).
If you haven't heard of him 'till now, it's quite simply because you don't give a **** about the SMW division - and i don't see why you should start caring now.

Calzaghe is the "name" between the two. He's still the betting favourite. Go with the flow, put your money on Calzghe, and don't bother trying to find out what's going on at SMW.

Personally i'll stick to my prediction that Kessler wins, regardless how many ppl feel the need to inform me of their ignorance or indifference.

Kessler is a Big strong fella and will be a lot more competitive than Lacy.
Joe is the better boxer obviously.
I think Joe will win a UD but it will be a tough fight.
The biggest problem for Joe will be his Hands of sherbert.

No - Kessler is an average sized SMW with real SKILL. Joe MIGHT turn out to have better skills, but it's no certainty. Kessler's real force is his timing and accuracy. Believing he's all about brute strength is a mistake.

I'm interested to see how Kessler will deal with being hit hard and often, and of course his jab being null and void. As far as I can tell it hasn't happened so far in his career but you can guarantee it will next month.

I know he's better than Veit if very similar in style and even build, and there are some scary parallels between this fight and the first Calzaghe-Veit bout. I just see this as a very bad matchup for Kessler.

Everyone's a winner so long as Kessler manages to keep his opponent honest, which I think he will. There'll be no-one left at SMW and he has the potential to reign a Calzaghe-free division for years afterwards, especially as Froch can't be bothered to fight anyone worth a damn.

I don't think Lucian Bute is half bad.
