They didn't want the first fight abroad to be against Mayweather. That is a legitimate reason to wait. Another reason to wait was money. The fight happening now is clearly more lucrative to Ricky than it would have been a year ago or 18 months ago. Hatton could easily have fought Mayweather straight away but it would have been ****** and by deciding to wait Hatton has shown that he genuinely believes he can beat Mayweather otherwise he would have taken the fight at the time.

I never said that Hatton was ducking Mayweather, he was trying to manage his career, and he did it effectivly, look where he is now!
However, in response to a thread about Floyd ducking Hatton, this concept is necessary to bring up, because although I dont think Hatton was ducking Floyd, if anyone WAS ducking, it was more certianly not Floyd.
