  • what paul williams should do to put his name out there!!

buy a front row ticket to mosley-cotto and hatton-mayweather.
wear his championship belt at the front row for both fights.
hold a sign that reads "Both of These Guys Wont Fight Me"

not only will he get these fighters' attention. people at home will be like "who the **** is this guy?" and want to know more about him.

its perfect. goosen needs to make his fighter do this. quit waiting for your oppurtunity. make the best of it.

when somebody comes to ask him a few questions, he should be like "what sign?" and big up the fighters in the ring while still holding up the sign. i think its original.

      Ha! Ha! Ha!

But seriously, he should fight more often (he has had only one fight this year) and win decisively against top opponents (many boxing writers thought he lost to Margarito).
Pavlik's trouncing of Pantera had much to do with his having later faced Taylor.

those writers are idiots. most of writers you speak of were at the fight and were going off of crowd reaction. in no way did marg should have had more than 3 rounds to his credit.

paul was marg's mandatory. he needed to wait to see what marg was going to do first before making his next move. besides he fought 10 times between 05 and 06. the break might just do him good.

Writers may be what you say they are, but they help to sell matches, put pressure on the stars and help William's cause.

Had Williams trounced Margarito, the possibility of matches against the stars would have vastly improved.

It doesn't help if a good portion of the media is not sold on one's accomplishment. The only way around media's skeptism shall be to decisively win. Take the result out of the judges' and the media's hands. Then, maybe, just maybe, much of the skeptical media shall come around.

Yes, that's easier said than done. But, isn't that why there are only a handful of stars?

If one wants to face the stars, win, and become a star it's always better to lend substance to the hype. And substance is best earned by winning without questions.

That is not saying that Williams is all hype. It's just saying that he should prove himself to be as good as advertised.

As for fighting five times in 05 and 06, fighters must remember that most fans have short memories. One is only as good as his last appearance. Wrong or right about their short memories, fans are the lifeblood of the game. And they are the ones who determine who the stars are and who are not.

We are drawing closer to the end of 07, and Williams still has fought only once this year and won that fight although a good number thought he lost (regardless of our opinion of those boxing experts.)

Williams does not have to do shiet.

Williams called out the man whom Floyd Mayweather Jr ducked and was afraid to fight. He did not beat up Tony but he still got the win.
There is not much more williams can do right now but wait for people to finish their business. He will be fighting some one big soon.

If people do not know who Williams is, they don't follow boxing. He does not have to anything other than keep winning and calling out the other tough lions in his division.
