Yeah you could be right.. Floyd's probly hoping someone else will take care of Williams. I kinda think Cotto-Williams would make for an interesting fight. Cotto's actually an inch shorter than Mayweather at 5'7, but Cotto would be forced to engage, his style would demand it. Cotto does not fight going backwards. I think Cotto would stand a good chance of punishing the punisher in the body and break him down.

This would be like Roberto Duran v Tommy Hearns.

Floyd would make Williams look silly. Williams throws a lot of punches in the centre of the ring but he doesn't apply pressure intelligently enough. Mayweather would spend the entire fight making Williams turn round and catching him with counters.

mayweather lives and dies by his reach advantage against good fighters...williams takes this away for once. The question is, is williams really a good fighter?

That's the question and the answer is that I don't think he is.

Is his reach really that good?? That's not something I've noticed.

I'm sorry, does anyone see any of the other top welters trying to fight him? I doubt Williams will be seeing them any time soon.

Floyd didn't have a reach advantage against De La Hoya though. And De La Hoya is tons better than Williams.

Paul Williams is to green, he would get countered over the jab and after he realizes he dosen't like getting hit off of that his work rate will go down and PBF will set the pace. It is a hard puzzle to solve though, P-dub is Floyd's biggest threat other than Mosley.
